BassmanfromNC Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I fish alot of ponds that are low visibility, I can barely see my paddle in a foot of water. I know to use dark colored plastics, but does it apply to spinnerbaits/crankbaits as well?? What colored spinnerbaits/cranks would you use? Thanks Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 When using Spinnerbaits and crankbaits you are relying more on vibration and sound to help the fish locate the bait. Use cranks with loud rattles and big spinners with big blades and maybe even a trailer. I use white/chartreuse, Fire Tiger and Sexy Shad combination's with great success. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 I fish some similar condition ponds, and for spinnerbaits, I would suggest white/chartreuse, with at least one large Colorado blade, and for cranks, something fat with a wide wobble. Quote
Mottfia Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 YES! you are dead on. small disclaimer tho. color is not as important in dirty water has the vibration of the lure but it can help you out. When fishing water as muddy as yours, you can narrow your options down to almost white, char. and black, maybe brown if you really like it. but you don't need much more. Those colors will help the bass see it better because it offers contrast. That could be enough to create a solid strike instead of a missed strike. Good Luck! Mottfia Quote
