Black Water Basstard Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I live in a neighborhood with hidden lakes and ponds all connected together and no one is supposed to fish it unless you live their, it even says that on a big white sign, well yesterday I walk up to my favorite lake since I was just about 10 years old and ive caught enough double digit bass out of this lake to make most people jealous but me and my friend turn the corner and here comes just guy walking away from the lake with a 11 and a 9 pounder in his hands my mouth just dropped immediately started freaking out he responds it's not my fault you catch the big one and my friend knocks him out but he still gets away with the fish because they were already dead this is the fourth time I have seen this happening and thats all I've seen who knows how many other times it happens but what would you do if saw people taking fish out of private ponds that you live on. These people live about 15 miles away in trailer parks and come and fish all the time I don't mind if their putting them back to fight another day but they take fish out of run off ponds and what not that I know their not eating because I know their not even that stupid to eat them with all the toxins going in their. bigtimfish Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 This guy is actually keeping and eating 11 and 9 # bass? Im sorry but he sounds like a real ****** to me. Who is in charge of the ponds? Is it like a gated community? I wish I could give you an answer because stuff like that really bothers me. I watched a kid pull up about a 20lb stringer out of the pond I fish and take them home.I was so pissd but I could not say anything. He had a key to the gate of the pond and I don't. Quote
Black Water Basstard Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Yes its a gated community but thats not gonna keep people out of it obviously it just frustrates me to see people not catching and releasing in my neighborhood Quote

Super User grimlin Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 If he's trespassing, call the cops. It's illegal what they are doing. If it's legal what he's doing, there's nothing you can do. Quote

GonzoFishing Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Tell me exactly where this lake is located and I'll stand guard Seriously though, your best bet would be to call the cops or a wildlife official. Trying to stop them might just get you hurt. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 1. call local police/sheriff and file a formal complaint. 2. call game dept. as he probably do not have a license. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 . Sounds a little fishy to me. Quote
tnhiker44 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 ive caught enough double digit bass out of this lake to make most people jealous Sounds to me like this lake is in need of some serious fish management. I think, based on your 'story', that every double digit bass that you can catch needs to be culled from that fishery. Bass only get big by being smart... and it sounds as if you got a lake full of dumb fish.... please, for the sake of the sport... weed out those dumb fish. : Quote
Black Water Basstard Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Yeah I know my friend did knock him out but he was asking for it, but i guess ill just have to call the cops next time and trust me these fish arent smart for how big they are the pond just happens to have a rather large wild shinner population Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 . Sounds a little fishy to me. You noticed that too huh!?! Quote
aarogb Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I can't get over the fact that your friend knocked him out. What did the guy do when he got up? Quote

Black Water Basstard Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Well the guy had a friend with him and when we told him not to take fish like that out of the lake he asked us what we were gonna do we really didnt know what we were going to do and then we didnt say anything and he said thats what i thought u F**king something and then my friend got into it with him the other one picked up the fish Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 Sounds like to me you may have assault and battery charges on your hands if your friend knocked him out as you say. This doesn't leave you much ground to stand on in front of a police officer while filing a complaint. If this is a gated community, then it should have security staff that need to be notified. That might be a good place to start. Quote

Super User CWB Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 First there's one guy, then 2 and you're 10 and your friend knocks a guy out? How old is your friend? How old was the guy he decked? Next time call the cops first, then your local DNR, and talk to the guard at the gate. He might be able to keep a lookout for these tresspassers. Did they just walk in or were they in a car. If a car, did you get the plate #. Sounds like an old Harry and Charlie episode from Bassmaster Mag. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Sounds to me like the heat is getting to some people. Seriously in this day and age if you go to fists nothing will be solved. Next time call the police if he is trespassing. Your friend should feel lucky he did not land in jail. Quote
Black Water Basstard Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Theres not a guard at the gate or any type of security is just one of those enter a number gate type thing me friends 19 the other guy was probably 25 or so Quote
