So, earlier today I was at the bank, and the teller (who knows me, and what I do on most of my days off) asks, "So, did you catch any fish on your days off" ? To which, without really thinking, I replied, "Yea, I whacked em' :-) LOL

She kind of laughs, and says, "So I guess that means you caught a bunch of fish" ?  :)

I guess I could have said;

I sleighed them,

I ripped them {sometimes followed by, "a new one"  ;D

I destroyed them,

I tore them up

I hammered them {or to some of my buddies "the $### out of them" :-)

I smashed them,

I killed them,

I murdered them,

What else ???

How do you guys usually describe what you did to the fish, after a good trip ?

Just curious,

Fish

killed em

and

caught em pretty good

depends on how many beers i've had.

Ripped their lips.

Wore them out.

Wore ourselves out.

They gave up and started jumping in the boat.

They started turning themselves in.

We buried ourselves in fish.

Loaded the boat.

Got 'em one after the other.

Three possible responses depending on how I did:

Lot of fish = 'did pretty good'

Several fish = 'did okay'

Barely any = 'just a couple dinks'

If I caught something huge though I pull out the cellphone and they get to see a picture of it.

If I have an epic day or catch a monster  I say "yeah I caught a couple trout" or bluegill or little cats Or I say "Nope couldnt get any"

If I do realy good I say "caught a couple"

If I did ok I say  "caught a couple little ones"

If I did poor I say "It was real tough"

Now when I talk to a friend who bailed out or couldnt go I actualy tell them what I caught and rub it in hard. Unless of course it sucked and then I dont call them to report. Ha ha

Actualy I find myself using the Caught a couple little ones for most inquiries

The skunk is dead, then I smile. ;D

"kicked their teeth in"

"Caved their head in"

B*tch slapped them

they were puking

"Had to lay down in the bottom of the boat to tie my bait on so they wouldn't take it out of my hand" <--- My personal favorite   ;D

On tournament day - "I had a good day"  or "We caught a few"

I have heard this term used frequently. It is not used in the context you are thinking of. By definition it can also mean to plunder or pillage. It may not be the best choice depending on who you are speaking to, but amongst friends I do not see a problem with it.

I understand your point, but it still is in very bad taste.

Just understand that your words might be heard by someone who can easily misinterpret the meaning (or worse, someone who has had it happen to them or a loved one).

Basically, you just dont know who is going to hear it.  If the attitude is, "I dont really care who hears it," then prepare yourself for whatever you get back....

It's a youth thing. I try not to say it too often but I find myself saying it occasionally, never around anybody other than my friends though. Out of context it does sound inappropriate though so I understand why you found it offensive which is why I don't say it very often.

I use the term CRUSHED or CRUSHING a lot.  As in "We were crushing them today."

I use MASHED a lot as well.  or "MASHING"  As in "We MASHED them last night"

I also will use DOMINATED.  As in "I freaking dominated those bass tonight"

No harm, no foul fellas.

Really just trying to give you a heads up, figuring it might sound a little more reasonable coming from someone who is relatively ( ::)) close to your age.  Take it for what it's worth.

As for the slang, it's typically "Wore them out" or "Load the boat" after we have left the lake.

While on the lake, usually the response will be "A couple"
