Super User Dan: Posted June 1, 2009 Super User Posted June 1, 2009 Texas's Lake Fork & I think they are under 75 years 17.7 11/26/1986 17.6 04/01/1989 17.6 08/28/1990 17.1 2/26/1991 18.2 1/24/1992 Included the Lone Star state of Texas. Where do you think the next Texas record bass will come out of? WRB You stated no bass in the past 75 years over 17 lbs have been reported in those states, to the best of my knowledge. I answered with five over 17 lbs from Texas You answered Included the Lone Star state of Texas. Where do you think the next Texas record bass will come out of? My question what the heck that mean? Perry's bass was weighted on certified scales and verified by 2 witnesses "Potential places where a new record could be swimming; Arizona, California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Cuba, Japan, South Africa and Mexico. Didn't mention Georgia or Alabama, no bass in the past 75 years over 17 lbs have been reported in those states (meaning Georgia or Alabama), to the best of my knowledge. WRB." Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I hope I never catch the world record large mouth bass, I'm fairly sure I could have president O and the good lord himself as witnesses, weighing it live on national TV and there would still be nay sayers.... doesn't everyone have anything better to debate than the world record debate that's been beaten worse than a dead horse? Super User Dan: Posted June 1, 2009 Super User Posted June 1, 2009 isn't there an $8million prize for the next world record from some private organization? Screw the naysayers, I would want that money too bad! Not mention the sponsorships and whatnot. Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 1, 2009 Super User Posted June 1, 2009 Alright Alright I got it already Quote
swilly78 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I believe they pulled the plug on the 8 million after dotty was caught the first time. The price of the insurance skyrocketed Im sure. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 2, 2009 Super User Posted June 2, 2009 I think if I caught what I would believe to be a WR bass, I'd still do a CPR, and screw the world record stuff. I'd go to my grave knowing that a 21+ lb bass is still swiming around in some lake, and happy to be alive........... Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 2, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 2, 2009 LBH posted 2 of my giant bass; 18.6lb photo and 19.3 lb replica mount. The difference between a giant and normal bass, other than the obvious weight, is the body shape; giants have a girth that nearly equals their length. Giant bass are always Florida strain, they are a different bass than the northern strain found in the vast majority of the country. FLMB when transplanted into deep cool water reservoirs with a large bait fish population can grow to become giants. Take few minutes and look at the Bloody tail and Fish mount thread photo's. Super User WRB Posted June 3, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 3, 2009 Unfortunately Dottie's official weight is 21.7 lbs, when Jed Dickerson caught her; .05lb short of the California state record. Agree, Dottie could have been the world record. WRB Quote

WRB That is "THE" question. WRB, this should be a topic by itself. I look forward to reading the replies to this one. Quote
Georgia Jeff Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Yall are just jealous. Georgia rules! Just messing with yah! I think the next world record will come out of Mexico or Cuba. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted June 4, 2009 Super User Posted June 4, 2009 The official California state record for largemouth bass is 21.75 lbs., caught by Mike Arugo on March 5th, 1991 at Lake Castaic. Mike reportedly was trolling a Renosky 8" soft plastic swimbait, fishing out of a rental aluminum boat. The rental doesn't have a livewell or any means to keep a fish alive, so the bass was put in the boat, then taken back to the dock a few hours later to be weighed. A few hours later? I don't understand what this guy is doing for a few hours that's more important that weighing a potential world record bass?? Geebus, no offense but some of these trophy guys seem like they've been out in the sun way too long. Quote
