I refused to buy one until my buddy Peter, from this forum, caught 2 bass back to back over 8lbs, here is a pic of the bigger one.

I also like the fact that KVD says he uses the sexy shad color almost exclusively on tour. Marketing hype yes, but I can't argue against the sexy shad success. Here is a picture of the fish he caught:

I don't care what they call it. As long as I keep catching alot of quality fish with it.

KVD said that Mark Zona was the guy that named it.

Well now...You've turned my head! I think I'll test this theory one full

day on the Roadtrip. Two consecutive 8s? Man...

I'm trying to keep track of all the knockoff names I've seen.

BassPro has XXX Shad as M and M said.

Bandit has a knockoff called "Sparkle Ghost"

The Fat Free Shads now come in "Foxy Shad"

...

Can anyone think of others? :)

Lucky Craft- Sexy Chartreuse

Lucky Strike- Golden Shad

Tru-Tungsten- Chartreuse Shad

Bomber/Heddon/Xcaliber/BooYah- Foxy Shad

Noman-Chartreuse Sexy Shad

That is all I could find. But don't forget about the Strike King "Sexy Spoon"

                  -gk

Cabelas- Bombay and Lime

Well, I don 't own any sexy shad colored baits.

I'm actually pretty happy about all the attention, because it has put a stop on all the talk about 'RED' and 'Bleeding'  ;D I can now go into my local tackle shop and no longer have to look through aisles and aisles of baits trying to find one that DOESN'T have red splashed all over it!

They should make a crankbait in the homely shad color for the bass with lower standards

What about Butter-Face Shad? Or She's-a-Ten-at-Two Shad?

Last-Call Shad?

Closing-Lights Shad?

Couple-More-Beers-and-I-Would Shad.

I could go on and on. :)

Hype? Perhaps...

I'll tell you this though, almost all of my fish above the five pound mark came on this color last year. When they want it, they really want it.

I had to replace the trebles, the eyes, and do some work on the bill they beat it up so bad. They still crush this crank.

But when you watch the BASS winning ways he is using a Fat Free Shad in another color. Now I have to agree with the fact that hopefully it is helping do away with the red, bleeding, hemoridging fad!

YES... i had a similar thread call "lure craze hatred" going about this earlier in the year. Its nothing more than a shad colored crankbait with a little yellow. There have been at least 3 other brands with very similar colors well before the sexy shad. Im not saying the color dosnt work somewhat but I havnt found a situation that plane shad colors dont do just as well. Its all in the head of the fisherman... if you really think that a fish will turn down a crankbait lacking that small yellow stripe and bluish back when it would have ate one with that your crazy. IMO color matters very little in fishing... as long as you have something for clear and dark waters you'll be fine. Sometimes the lure manufactureres are better "fishers" than we are. :)
