if you stick a fish and loose it fast...will you keep fishing for it

the reason i ask is because i have caught fish after sticking them, but more often than not, they wont bite again

    If I will hook up with a fish and lose it I will always throw back in the same spot where I lost it to see if the bass will bite again.  More often than not though it doesn't bite again.

I always throw at it again.  The worst that could happen is that it won't bite, but sometimes, they'll hit it as soon as it hits the water.  This is especially true if the fish wasn't hooked the first time, just holding the lure in its mouth

I'll usually cast back at it immediately. i've lost bass from bad hooksets when using soft plastics and sometimes they will swim right back to the place they were before. A few weeks ago I set a hook badly with a fat ika on the same bass 3 times in the same spot before I got it in...

I will. I actually lost a 5# female twice one day last week, once under the dock, then again right at the boat.....threw back again for the 3rd time and got her in.

I figured I had another shot after the first time I lost her because I didnt stick her real good but the second time when I got her all the way to the side of the boat before she shook it, I thought that was it. I was really surprised when she smashed it the 3rd time.

yup throw right back ive caught several fish that missed or threw a bait on the first shot  and then hit that sucker with fury when it hits the water again

im going to add this in.... do you usually throw the same bait back in or switch it up...i will usually use the same bait...and if its a good one will try a few others if it doesnt hit the original bait

I throw the same bait back, and then follow with a senko/creature bait

x2. My girlfriend was fishing and didnt hook it the first time tossed it right back at it and bam took it in. There has even been times when I have reeled the fish in quite a bit and then it still bit again.

i rarely succeed with this, but on the rare occasion... it works out!

so all i can say is, it never hurts to try it.... the worst that can happen is that you lose it again, not the end of the world.

yea but i switch it up if it was a topwater or a jig or crank whatever then ill throw a tx rigged plastic back at it usualy will slurp it up,ill either throw it a lil past where he threw the hook ir ill try to hit the darn thing in the head with the lure. ;D

A couple weeks ago on pro team journal, KVD said when using buzz baits always have a weightless zero Tx-rigged and ready and if a strike misses then throw the zero in.... Worked everytime last week!

Depends on the species of fish.  Bass sometimes will go after it a second time, they are not the most aggressive fish.  Peacocks don't give up till they have it, seldom is there a need for second cast.  I have been hit 3-4 times on the same cast till they are hooked, extremely aggressive.

the buzzbait is kind of a unique bait in this situation as it can draw many short strikes. You should always have a follow up bait with a buzz bait.

it depends. If i hook a fish and he jumps off after a few jumps then sometimes no.

Although i will cast in the area again hoping to find a different fish.

Now that i think about it......i almost always make a follow up cast.....even if i know they arent coming back.

If the fish has not felt the hook it is still very catchable. Many times I will locate a fish for a client using a rig that can't sting the fish.

today i hooked a smallmouth on a fluke it jumped and threw the bait, it was curled up on the hook and i was reeling it, and im pretty sure it was the same fish, but it came back and rolled on it after being hooked...i didnt catch it but thought it was kinda cool...
