Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Just wondering if any of you guys/gals Sneak onto golfcourses to catch Bass..? Personally I don't, it's like shooting ducks in a barrel imho, and could not see any satisifaction in it. Some people I know do, cuz they can catch lots of fish in a short period of time, this is happening in los angeles, and orange county in so. cali where as you may know the pressure is crazy, and folks are just not up to the challenge I guess. And what happens when you get caught..? Your thoughts..?
Super User fishinfiend Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 I respect other people's property and the laws that protect property from trespassers. It sounds like you think that fishing in a pond is worse than breaking the law. :-/ Since I do not own a boat, I do most of my fishing from ponds.
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Not really..that's why I said, and what happens when you get caught. We are on the same page my friend. Wildbillb Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I worked on a golf course in college. Fished the ponds every night for the last hour before dark. Yes it was easy to catch them, but it sure was a lot of fun halling in those hawgs.
Super User 5bass Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 The biggest bass I ever caught came from a golf course pond. My buddy had permission for us to go in there. Great place to set some hooks, the bass were always willing to bite and the big ones weren't shy either.

Makes me wonder if they ever do the same with golf balls.
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Come to think of it, some of the largest bass I've seen, other than in images, was on a golf course in Lakeville, MA. There is a pond adjacent to the golf course. There are two smaller pools, I'll call them, that connected to the main pond by culverts. The bass spawned in these two pools. When they were on the beds, they were clearly visible from the cart path which followed within a foot or two from the water along the shoreline. I have to say the thought of a telescoping rod in my golf bag entered my mind.

bass or bass ? Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 My Grandparents lived on a golf course in Ft.Lauderdale when I was a teenager. The second largest bass I ever caught was from a pond on that course about 60 yards from their house. The country club didn't want people fishing on the course during the day due to the possibility of being hit by a golf ball. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Well, if you had permission, it doesn't count, note that I said "Sneak" on to a course..that being said, do any of you guys do the Ninja thing to get bass..? In other words, are you willing to trespass to get fish.
Super User 5bass Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Well, if you had permission, it doesn't count, note that I said "Sneak" on to a course.. Well, we dont condone or even bother to discuss bass fishing if it involves breaking the law so this thread is closed.
