What rod and reel were you using?

lol, low budget.

It's a 6.5 med no name rod, I think it's an FLW special, lol.  The fish had NO CLUE it wasn't expensive tho.   ;)  The reel is a Revo stx that was a gift from Glenn.

It's been a relentless week 8-)

We've been on vacation, the fish aren't happy about that, back to work tomorrow, the party is over. :(

No way man,...I just called your dad to make sure the batts are on the chargers, lol, I'm going back tomorrow around 11.  I figure it will be the last day of solid bed fishing like we've seen all week.  Man, did we pick the right week again....dead on!!

4" Strike King Finesse worm on a drop shot has been the ticket this week, pick a color, all have worked.  BIG BAITS are back when this stage is over, STAY TUNED :)

how do you identify beds?

The bed is a depression or a "cleared away" circle, usually found between 2ft and 8 ft of water (although there are some deeper and shallower) The male "clears away" all the loose gravel, sand, silt, debris, with his tail and mouth to make an attractive nest that might entice the female to lay her egg in. Much like humans, the better the real estate, the hotter the chick, lol. Let me see if I can find and video showing a bed.....

ok, in the clip below, as the boat gets closer to the rock wall coming out from shore, you'll notice 3 beds at the foot of the right side of the wall. 1 is occupied, 2 are older and abandoned (the Bluegill will conveniently use these in another week or so for their spawn) You can see them better as the clip nears the end.

Those are examples of beds. If you see one that's well cleaned like the furthest one in this clip, there IS a fish nearby or directly on it. Don't be fooled if you don't see him,....he's close by.

Short clip-BEDS

What kind of weights are you using?

Are did you have the hook thru the head of the worm?

Typical drop shot weights.

yes, hook thru the head :)

I wish I could see the video.  When I click the link it says "server not found."  Same thing happens whenever I click on any of LBH's links.  :(  Haven't had this problem with any other videos, just LBH videos.  :(

Great vid Russ.

By the way, I think Jimmy Houston is contacting his lawyer as he has a patent on kissing bass.
