I have never used these baits and would be interested in opinions from those of you THAT HAVE used these and found them to be at least as effective as regular plastics.  My interest is in fishing for either largemouth or smallmouth bass.

1. What presentations have you found Gulp Alive to be effective with?

2. What speed is the bait moving during this effective presentation?

3. What shape & size of this bait has been effective in your presentation?

The only GULP products I've used is the 3" minnow. I use it quite often on a dropshot rig and it does produce. I won't say its better than livebait as far as fish catching potential, but it is alot easier to store and does catch fish.

I use the Gulp Alive Leeches, 3". And they "DO WORK!"

In fact I would say I saved over $100 last year alone switching from Glup Alive leeches from the reel thing and caught just as many fish if not more.

The minnows work well also but I haven't used them quite as much.

Nice thing is that you never have to worry about your bait going bad! :)

I've used the 2.5" - 4 " Gulp minnows (smelt) and I totally killed walleyes, crappies, white bass, and smallies last season.

There were times that they did out produced live minnow, so I'm a firm believer for sure!

I will never leave without a good supply of Gulp minnows.  This stuff do work as advertised!

You are in WI, correct?  I ask because I am going to buy a pint of minnows for 'eyes this spring.  I'll be fishing them on leadheads.  I can only afford one, but have been torn between the smelt and black shad colors.  I'm leaning towards smelt because the color resembles a lot of the minnows that we use for 'eyes.  Any thoughts?  Three or four inch?

Thank you for the information given thus far.  For the most part, I've read that Gulp Alive is effective when used for remaining still or very slowly moving techniques.  Given the relatively slow dispersal rate of the scent in water this should be expected, but how does this bait work when used in faster presentations such as "swimming" a grub or "darting" a fluke shape through the middle of the water column?  Is the "action" of the tails or appendages as good as that of regular plastics with the same shapes?  Do visual triggers such as size or color have to be factored into the equation to get positive results in a faster moving presentation or is the scent stimulus enough for a positive outcome?

Gulp! Alive 3" minnows on a DS.  Location is critical, you want to be where there lots of hungry smallies.

I fish the Great Lakes (St. Clair and Erie) quite a bit with Gulp baits on a dropshot.  It's killer for smallies.

I have success with the leeches, gobies and minnows.  It's amazing how one can outproduce the others on any given day.  One day it's leeches, the next it's gobies and then all of a sudden the minnnows are it.

Good baits.  All of them work, which ones depends on where and when you are presenting them.
