superduperdan Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Sadly, not by any of us that fish in New England.... I vote for one of the lakes in Mexico with a big swimbait
Super User firefightn15 Posted May 9, 2009 Super User Posted May 9, 2009 I'm not sure how far this thread will go, but here is some archived reading. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1240098315/0 Not real long ago (winter), there was a thread that was several pages long on this topic. I thought this was it, I should have looked closer. Sorry
StatosDadRI Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Something tells me this one won't go 9 pages like last time. And Dottie was it.
Super User Catt Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 Where? In a lake on the side of the road When? Some time in the future How is going to be broken? By someone catching one bigger
Captain Obvious Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I guess I'll be the guy to fire the first shot in the WR wars. There are only three places that a WR are possible, Mexico, Texas, and California. I vote Texas, no sound reason I'm just pushing for my home state to win Now I will go and find a place in the bunkers and hunker down and wait for the mud to start flying Capt.O
etommy28 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 hey captain there is one thing you missed..... Florida! not saying that is where it will be broken but i truely believe there is a record swimming around here some where.
Super User cart7t Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 I hope it's a young kid fishing one of those Roland Martin bazooka rods with a banjo minnow tied onto it under a bobber fishing for crappie. The entire bass fishing industry will collapse.

Florida! not saying that is where it will be broken but i truely believe there is a record swimming around here some where. ;D ;D ;D If its broken it will be from California or Mexico. IMO Texas doesn't have much of a shot and Florida doesn't have a shot at all, unless its a complete fluke.
Bass_Akwards Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Dude mark my words. The next world record is coming from CUBA! I went down there for a week a few years ago. Didn't bass fish but I was all over the island. I talked to a couple different bass fishermen and they were talking about knowing people who have caught 20 pounders at a couple different lakes there. I've since researched it and CUBA is my pick for the next world record largemouth. My guess is a swimbait does it.
Super User Muddy Posted May 10, 2009 Super User Posted May 10, 2009 Just ask the guy with the biggest bass posted here, he is the expert on big bass. :
bigfruits Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Dude mark my words. The next world record is coming from CUBA! can we americans go there yet, or do we still have to go through central/south american countries?
Captain Obvious Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Florida hasn't even produced a bass in the teens let alone the 22lb 4oz! Cal lost Dottie and things got real quiet, haven't heard about any lunker stories from there in a while, I think the bad economy has made them cut back on hand feeding the bass rainbow trout. Texas and Mexico, I don't have to mention all the great lakes, and while your fishing for a WR you'll catch lots of 6lb to 9lb fish. Cuba should also get consideration. And out of all these places Texas is the only place that the government is help to produce bigger fish, I'm not saying that it will work but it sure can't hurt things. Capt.O
