George Welcome Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 From dawn to dusk. Amen to that - Stopped the boat: client cast a chugbug and reeled in a 12.5 for first cast and first fish of the morn. Called for last cast and customer reeled in a little lady that went into the double digit weight. Miday, morning, or late in the day is up for grabs: you just never know. Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 colder months= dusk warmer months=dawn colder being a relative term here in SoFl. Yeah, "colder" 80+ degrees. ;D Quote
Fisher of Men Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Morning is usually good during summer except during a full moon. Quote
avid Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 neither. I usually fish between about 10am and 4pm. don't have to get up early, get bug bit, or miss dinner. Quote
zaraspook_dylan2 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 From dawn to dusk. lol theres the best answer that could be given. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 neither. I usually fish between about 10am and 4pm. don't have to get up early, get bug bit, or miss dinner. Plus, best time for big bass for me! 8-) Quote
bronzewb22 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I generally like morning...but i've caught all three of the 7+ pounders ive ever caught at high noon with no wind. Maybe its just a coincidence, but i don't know. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 Morning person here....I like fishing from just after dawn to about 2 pm. Then I call it quits, get the boat put away, and have a nice relaxing hot meal for supper. The end of a perfect day! Quote
kms399 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I usually try to get on the water and fishing by 4:30 AM. around here there is so much pressure and so much boat traffic that I feel like I have better chances if i am the first on a spot that day. and as a bonus I can fish for 6 hours and still be home by 11. that leaves me the whole day to spend with the family. and if my son wants to I will take him out for bluegill in the evening. Super User Hammer 4 Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 I have to say from early morn, cuz the lakes don't let us on till after 7am..but I'll fish till they drag me in... ;D Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 Which do you like to fish more? You should have put late night! this would have been my vote, so I went with evening! :'( Quote
tritz18 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 morning, its quiet and I tend to catch more fish then. but if I had it my way everytime it would be from dawn to dusk Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 As much as I hate waking up, mornings have always been better for catching more fish for me. 75% of my large fish have been caught very late into dusk or during the night... Quote
T-2000 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I picked evening. It's nice to get out on the water in the late afternoon and feel the weather cool as the sun goes down. That said, I'll take any time of day that allows me to dip a line; some of my best fishing has come in the very late morning. Quote
swilly78 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Being a night-owl, I had to go with evening myself. Plus my best fish seem to always grab my hook just after nightfall. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 The night time is the right timedusk to dawn Quote
Vyron Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 usually from 11:00 am to 18:00 pm I hate waking up in the morning Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 Nothing like watching Nature wake up on a body of water. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 I usually fish more in the mornings, but this year I would like to do more late afternoon and night fishing. Quote
