Last year I started a contest for the largest bass relative to your state record and it's that time of year again.  Most people are starting to thaw out so if you guys are ready then let's get signed up.

If you want to play, then all you have to do is declare your intention to get whipped by us Florida guys this year. ::)

This contest will run from daylight on April 15th  through dark on May 30th.  Anyone who has posted to this thread by midnight on April 14th is eligible to play.

Prizes to be determined at a later date.

RULES

1. This is for FUN...

2. Any Black Bass with a state record is eligible. You must have submitted your entry prior to midnight Apr 14, 2009.

3. This contest runs from daybreak on April 15th, 2009 to sunset on May 30, 2009.

4. Artificial bait ONLY. If you are sight fishing, the fish must be hooked inside the mouth. All fish must be caught in PUBLIC fishing areas. No private stocked ponds.

5. Scoring of the fish shall be completed as follows:

Example

FW = fish weight = 10.5 lbs (my pb)

SR = state record Fl = 17.27 lbs

FW / SR x 100 = your score

10.5/17.27x100 = 60.80 rounded to 2 decimals

In order for your fish to count, you must submit a picture, the state record weight for the state the fish was caught in, and an accurate weight of the fish. Your fish must be submitted within one week of being caught. (No sandbagging) You may submit as many fish as you want as long as subsequently caught fish are larger. All fish must be submitted before 7 am on May 31, 2009.

6. You can be disqualified for unsportsmanlike behavior. The definition of "unsportsmanlike" is completely at the discretion of myself and the moderators.

7. Entry Fee - You must post your intention to play on this thread prior to Apr 14th.

Directors Note-----Have fun, catch fish, and post your results......

Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!

Here's the target!

A new Kansas state record largemouth bass was caught in a private strip pit in Cherokee County on May 3 2008 and has been certified by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). Fourteen-year-old Tyson Hallam, of Scammon, took the trophy fish during the West Mineral Eagles Fishing Tournament using a jig and pig. The monster largemouth weighed 11-pounds, 12.8-ounces, edging the 31-year-old state record of 11 pounds, 12 ounces caught in 1977 by Kenneth Bingham of Topeka.

I'm game for Florida. If we fish another state as well can we submit fish for that state as well?

You can submit for any state you fish in, but you can only have 1 score for placement.  (you can't have a first place score for florida and a second place score for GA.  Only your highest score will be counted)

Well, if I started any earlier then those northern guys would be complaining about frozen water and out of season and other cry baby stuff like that.  :'(

I'm in, but it's going to be tough to get close to that pig that was caught a (very) few miles from my house.  At least the kid has a great t-shirt on.

Season in most Wisconsin waters starts first saturday of May. Hard to win a contest when you have less time to do it in.

Are you in or out?  No whining allowed, see rule number 6. ;)

You put us southern boys in the middle of post spawn which is the hardest time of the year to catch big bass.

That's alright I got big shoulders I can handle it.  ;)
