Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 9, 2009 Super User Posted March 9, 2009 If you want the best Owner Hyperwire splitrings. Can't add anything there. Owner stuff all the way around Russ. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Size is an issue too, size 3 for a 2/0 Owner st-41? Remember, the bottom hardware on a slammer that these attach to, is very thick. Quote
Infidel. Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I jacked up a couple of Hyper Wires trying to get them on a slammer. I will check to see what size I ended up using when I get home and get back to you in the morning. Quote
Infidel. Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Sorry about that, I totally forgot to get back to you. I checked and I use #7 on my Slammers. The smaller sizes didn't close back to normal after being opened enough to get on the eye screws. Just make sure you have some split ring pliers unless you intend on splitting your thumbnail from your thumb Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted March 13, 2009 Super User Posted March 13, 2009 On my slammers, I just open up the screw eye itself, slip the ring over and close the eye. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 don't use split rings , get yourself some offshore angler ''duolocks'' snaps , size 3 , they are 40# rated and work fantastically well , i think T-RIG uses them also . i hate split rings , i like to even take the split-rings off of crankbaits too , i then use the size 1 rated at 20# . hope this helps .... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_30043_151005009_151000000_151005000_151-5-9?ordProd=Y&CMID=TOP_selectitems#itemDetail Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 I think LBH is asking about hardware to attach the hooks. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 On my slammers, I just open up the screw eye itself, slip the ring over and close the eye. That's always an option. On some of my saltwater plugs, the hooks are cut and slipped on, then crimped back. Personally, I've heard awesome feedback about the Wolverine triple split rings... http://www.wolverinetackleinc.com/rings.htm Quote
