The Next KVD Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Depends on water clarity Clear to slightly stained water: 1/4-3/8oz Grn. Pumpkin colored jig with a camo colored trailer. Stained to muddy water: 1/4-1/2oz. Black/Blue colored jig with a Blue trailer Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 15, 2009 Super User Posted March 15, 2009 Black/black or brown/brown. Quote
FishingPirate Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 1)green pumpkin, not the brownish color but the kinda 3/4 green-1/4 tan and a watermelon trailer. 2)black and blue matching trailer. A lot more but those are frequent flyers. Quote
djmax22 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Last few years I have used PB and Jelly and green pumpkin, but Black and Blue is hard to beat. It seem to work in any water color. Quote

Super User Raul Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 Stained water, muddy water, crystal clear water ----> black Trailer ? : choose whatever color you like. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 Last year the lakes and ponds around me were either crystal clear or muddy. In the clear water I used a blue/black jig and in the muddy water I used a black jig. In the muddy water I used a black trailer, but in the clear water I had to play around and see what the bass wanted. Sometimes it was a blue trailer and sometimes they wanted some contrast. Quote
