soccplayer07 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 What are the best baits for drop shotting. I have lots of robo zipper worms (6 inch) and berkly shaky worms (5 inch) among others. I thought I would use these but I am starting to think the are more for shaky head rigs. Do they serve a dual role? Other recommendations? Thanks. Quote

I've use plain slugs of plastic and caught bass with them when drop shotting. Some of the more tried and true plastics are the 4" finesse worms, but I've used 6" before. And don't over look wacking rigging a Senko (4" works best for me). I've used tubes and helgramite imitations to boot! The one recommendation I would make is not to overwork the bait. Sometimes I'll wait 30 seconds or more before applying the standard twitching technique. Quote

The two companies I buy from are Stalker Bait Company in Connecticut and Bass Snacks in Pennsylvania. They are extremely soft baits and they float so the bass can see them better. It's all about your slack/tight light line and rod movements when trying to make the bait "float" on a drop-shot rig... 3" stickbaits are all you need or as Crestliner said 4" slim senkos... Quote

Not that it matters, but, Roboworms arent actually handpoured. Some robotical engineer/fisherman, designed robots to pour baits instead of injecting them. Thats why they are multi layered and soft like a handpour, but absolutely precise everytime, unlike a handpour. Quote

Yum bigshow paddle worm in all sizes including the 10 inch are my new experiment. Quote
