Uncle Moose Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I have had this happen several times and I love giving the ultimate FU response. I completly ignore them and just cast as close as I can to them without hitting them. Nothing makes a granola munching hippy go back in his house quicker than a 1/4 ounce spinner wizzing past his face. Quote

Perfect example of why we have the problems we do with the dock owners. Give yourself a bow, idiot. Quote

Purposely throw a spinner bait at me and I promise you would be swimming back to the ramp. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 26, 2009 Super User Posted March 26, 2009 The lakes that I have fished with docks like Guntersville, most people seemed to be very polite. I returned the favor by not fishing anywhere near boats or jet skis. I think if you use a little common sense most people will do the same. Quote

We can all understand the frustration with this person but all you need to do is screw up a little bit and you hit him in the face with your spinner. Not to mention, he can go out and call the police and now you get to lose fishing time talking to a cop. Personally, it is better to 1. ignore them, or 2. just move on. You ain't gonna chance their minds, they certainly ain't gonna change yours. IMO, any further dialog or actions between the 2 of you, is pretty much a total waste of time. Quote
Btech Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 WELL PUT MSTARR! I dont know why you would even WANT to Provoke them.... Throwing a spinnerbait at them is just childish and a waste of a lure if you snag it. As i stated before just smile an wave - That will get them more upset and theyll have NOTHING to do about it. X2 That's the worst way you can react. Just ignore them and keep on going. You would understand a little better if you've ever pulled a lure out of your boat cover or out of the carpeting etc. It's not hard to see why people get angry. Last year my neighbor was taking his dock out for the winter and got a crankbait stuck in his hand that was snagged under his dock. P.S. I hate granola and ain't no hippie. Quote
zaraspook_dylan2 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 My usual response is "Sorry, you confused me with someone who gives a shirt." Then I continue to move away, casting along the other boat docks. LMAO thats a good one:D my dad caught his biggest bass with me when we were fishin docks and as he had this bass on the guy comes runnin out saying how we are stealing his fish ;D Quote
