What to use when cold front hits

So what I have learned from it... The fish have been more active but have been hitting shorter. Tubes have been working but nothing else has gotten any hit.... hmmm... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!?

make sure to use a 3 inch tube. i also like to use a skinny bear finnesse jig in the smallest size i can get away with. drag it real slow. remember if their short striking it means you have got to downsize or even slow down.

im guessin raul just slows it down? id go with some senkos and dragging a carolina rig with a floating worm. how deep are you fishing?

its all about a slow presentation....look to the points that go form about 3-10ft with structure those fish will be scattered all on the points and holding tight to structure until the next warm weather hits then look to the creek channels and coves pref shallow. Good Luck. ;D

Dont know how deep the deepest areas are.. I fish from the bank lol.. Im guessing 10ft is the deepest... I got one today reeling a jerkbait in slow. ;D

I would go to where the fish have been and drop shot it.  Even in shallow water.

Slowing down is a part of it  , for example, I switch from regular cranks to suspending cranks, slow roll spinnerbaits, flip and pitch more oftenly.

Another thing is looking for what the fish look for ----> shade or deeper water where the light doesn 't penetrate that much.

I usualy downsize a little but more so add time to my pauses. About another 10 Seconds or so depending on the area. If its a jig Ill use more trailer on it that has been my newest way to fish slow. Thanks to yall i have been getting some good bites on a jig. Just slow down and down a notch in size should help. Also i think jigs are great for coldwater. Vertical presentation i hear are the best for cold.

This time of year, I like a jerkbait with long pauses. Recently, the pointer has been working good for me.

just remember that a cold front positions fish in the cover not around it they will hug the bottom or sit in the heavy part of the cover and have a small strike zone and will not want to chase anything. target the heavy stuff with a jig and take your time working over the area. suspending jerkbaits work well when fish dont feel like chasing anything and you can also dig them out with a crankbait or spinnerbait by making them react to it.
