Super User fourbizz Posted March 13, 2009 Super User Posted March 13, 2009 i havent bought a senko/senko knockoff for nearly 2 years.
Super User J Francho Posted March 13, 2009 Super User Posted March 13, 2009 Eyes wide open buddy. Stick worms are played out in most of the waters here. (similar logic, if I hired a guide, and he handed me a 'senko'; i'd be dissappointed. LMAO....)I bet you would!!!! LMAO too. Keep up the good work.
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 14, 2009 Super User Posted March 14, 2009 I still pay six bucks for a bag of ten. Still worth every penny because these lures flat out catch TONS of bass.
jaystraw Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I swear by senkos. I'm not saying that I won't use a BPS sticko (in fact, I use them all the time), but sometimes it seems like senkos are just the thing the fish are looking for. But, sometimes it seems like the fish want a little faster fall rate, and the sticko is a little heavier and has the pointed end (which I usually rip off) My friend hates how expensive senkos are, so he will not buy them . We've fished senkos vs. stickos and yum dingers a couple times, and we are usually close to even. Usually I'll beat him, but he has beaten me with the dinger a couple times. Anyway, at Dicks I pay 6.99, bu at the little discount place/tackle shop, I still pay $5.99.
Georgia Jeff Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 You can get twenty 5 3/8 inch or 6 inch BPS sticko's for $3.33 each during the fishing classic sale. I have never fished a Senko but I would be willing to bet that they are not that much better than the BPS brand. Certainly not good enough to justify the price! I buy about 20 packs during the classic and fish them all year w/o having to buy anymore.

DINK WHISPERER Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I buy the imitations on Ebay 50 for $14 shipped. They work just as good!

Georgia Jeff Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 This is true but I still can't image them being 5 times the price better. I have used the Kinami flash (aren't they made by Yamamoto or his son) and they didn't get anymore bites then the BPS brand.

Yep, they both get you the same results, one just costs 5 times more $!

JT Bagwell Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 It is obvious that I only fish the original Senko by Gary Yamamoto. No Knock-Offs for me. I have been on their Pro Team for 5-6 years now. I just saw in the Dick's Sporting Goods ad this morning that they have Gary Yamamoto Senkos for $5. I guess now would be the time for you guys to get hooked up and save a few bucks. JT Bagwell

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted March 15, 2009 Super User Posted March 15, 2009 How did this "my senko is better than yours" thread make it this far? Use what you like. I know what I like and I know which ones actually work better.I know which ones are far more durable but stiff as a piece of old leather too. :
Eddie Munster Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I haven't tried Senkos yet let alone those offered by other manufacturers but I see both sides of the discussion. Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes we're just paying for a name. I've used several companies buzzbaits and can say that I will only buy Cavitron buzzbaits as they are worth the extra money. I've learned about them from this site and I value the expert opinions here. Other things such as the HDMI cables in the Everything Else forum support the argument that sometimes we are paying for a name. Myself, I went ahead and ordered true Senkos based on respected opinions here. Will I catch more fish with them? Dunno. As we all know, at some point it isn't the arrow; it's the indian.
FishingPirate Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I dont pay anything for my senkos but I pay around 3 dollars for my Tiki Sticks. Nothing against senkos, I just like the SweetPotatoPie color. On the note of "my senko is better" I want a 12 inch senko so that I can say mine is bigger

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 16, 2009 Super User Posted March 16, 2009 ** Moderator Note ** Is 5 pages enough? If not, use the seach function and you can probably find another 2-300. Goodnight Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
