drmnbig Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 articles on bassmaster? I've been reading them for the last few months and immensly enjoy them. It just so happens that he lives about 45 minutes from me. I've spoken to him several times through email and he just seems very down to earth and loves the sport with a passion. Take some time and read through his blogs. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/news/story?page=b_blog_annarino_2009 Quote
IdahoLunkerHunter Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 That Toss.Toss.Turn post made me laugh! I get the same way even if it is just a regular day out fishing that I have planned. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I don't read his blog but I do read Alton Jone's blog and a few other things on the website Quote
Super User 5bass Posted March 20, 2009 Super User Posted March 20, 2009 The owner of the Minnow Pond that that guy was speaking of in one of his blogs, Melvin Crewson, died a couple weeks ago. It was a sad day for everyone who ever went into the Minnow Pond. Melvin was a great guy. I remember going into his shop when it first opened down on Hardy Road....dad and I always stopped in to buy minnows or plugs on the way to the lake and most times stopped on the way back to shoot the bull with everyone. Good times man, good times. He will be missed for sure. R.I.P. Melvin, thanks for everything. http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/197603 Quote
drmnbig Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 I stopped in there one time but it has been quite a while. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 21, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 21, 2009 This is one of the most hilarious reads I've had in a long time. Be sure to set some time aside to read it - it's a long one, but worth it. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/elite/news/story?id=2944998 Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 21, 2009 Super User Posted March 21, 2009 This is one of the most hilarious reads I've had in a long time. Be sure to set some time aside to read it - it's a long one, but worth it. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/elite/news/story?id=2944998 After reading that, it confirms what we all know, or should. The grass is not greener on the other side of the street. If I had to make a living from fishing, I'd rather do a television show. Something tells me Bill Dance, and Jimmy Houston have more enjoyment in life now, than they did on the trail, especially when they were trying to establish themselves. Most pros have sponsors. Very few get lucrative endorsements. Interesting read. Funny, yet it shows the reality of tournament fishing. Quote
