articles on bassmaster?  I've been reading them for the last few months and immensly enjoy them.  It just so happens that he lives about 45 minutes from me.  I've spoken to him several times through email and he just seems very down to earth and loves the sport with a passion.  Take some time and read through his blogs.

The owner of the Minnow Pond that that guy was speaking of in one of his blogs, Melvin Crewson, died a couple weeks ago. It was a sad day for everyone who ever went into the Minnow Pond. Melvin was a great guy. I remember going into his shop when it first opened down on Hardy Road....dad and I always stopped in to buy minnows or plugs on the way to the lake and most times stopped on the way back to shoot the bull with everyone. Good times man, good times. He will be missed for sure. R.I.P. Melvin, thanks for everything.

This is one of the most hilarious reads I've had in a long time.  Be sure to set some time aside to read it - it's a long one, but worth it.

After reading that, it confirms what we all know, or should.  The grass is not greener on the other side of the street.

If I had to make a living from fishing,  I'd rather do a television show.  Something tells me Bill Dance, and Jimmy Houston have more enjoyment in life now, than they did on the trail, especially when they were trying to establish themselves.

Most pros have sponsors.  Very few get lucrative endorsements.

Interesting read.  Funny, yet it shows the reality of tournament fishing.
