moby bass Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I know a lot of guys here don't like/use Gulp but does anyone know of a reason why I couldn't combine the leeches and the smelt in one container? That way I only have to carry one leaky container around instead of two. Is the attractant juice the same? Quote
Tuckman Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 All my different species of gulp are swimming around in the same quart gulp container. Some of the zip bags of gulp were drying out on me, and they needed to be relocated promptly, and the gobies had some room left over after thier numbers were decimated by smallmouth. After a winter of all of them being under the same roof they seem to be doin fine. Quote
Bojangles Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 We bought one pint Gulp Alive! 5" leech container last Spring and have used the juice to "recharge" my Gulp nightcrawlers, shakey worms...keeping the colors separate, of course. I believe the Alive! juice is a bit different formula than the older Gulp zip packet baits, but I haven't noticed any change in the texture or action of the older baits after a good soaking. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 14, 2009 Super User Posted March 14, 2009 My biggest largemouth last year, over 5 pounds, came on a Berkley Gulp 3" white minnow grub when fishing for walleye. The baits in the bags do dry out a little bit. Gulp is lethal for walleye and it works on bass too. I haven't used it much for bass, but I plan on trying the sinking minnows and jerk shads this year. The alive bucket baits do have even better action and they keep better. I used to be skeptical of gulp, but it DOES work very well. It isn't magic, but it does work well. Other plastics and other presentations do still work better at times. Quote
FishGA Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I read on here somewhere someone suggested using a dippity do hair gel jar instead of the gulp container. It's supposed to be more secure. Quote
lunka4me Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I use the containers (Rubbermaid type) that you can store soup in. I think i got them at the dollar store and they work well. Quote
