Ok well all have our pet peaves like rudeness and litter etc.

I want to know what are your pet peaves that relay shouldnt bother you buy they do anyways.

Mine are

#1 I dont know why it bothers me but it does. A bluegill is a bluegill. It is not a bream or a brim. A bream is a fish that lives in Europe. and a Brim is just a bad pronuciation of bream. This has always botherd me. Its kind of like calling a bass a carp. Now I realize that It shouldnt bother me and its dumb to let it bother me but I cant help it.

#2 Another pet peave is naming colors after shad, like a red plastic worm called "red shad" Makes no sense !! Its a worm!! and there aint no such thing as a red shad!!! Yeah I know I am being dumb.  :D

I am sure you guys have some little things that bother you that realy shoulnt, lets hear them.

To be honest, my pet peeve right now is not being able to afford your kicka$$ baits  :).  Just 50$ a hardbait that'll i'll lose in a day (murphys law) is something I can't afford as a college kid right now.  I did manage to acquire one of your bluegill soft ones, so I can't wait to try it out!

Pet peeve #2?  Living in NJ where its still too cold to go fishing right now  ;D

Hooks getting caught together on a crankbait, it only takes a second to free them, it just irks me.

Is irk a word?  ;D

The wives of rich people that don't work.  In Southlake, TX (the closest larger town from me) where we do our shopping and such....is the most affluent town in America.  It has a median income of $188K...more than any other city.  During the day...young wives drive around in the Bentleys and aston martins, and just shop and get pampered.  It makes me roll my eyes, but I realize I shouldn't hate just because they have it better than me.

Mine is word usage, people who don't know how to use your/you're and then/than just to name a couple.

Blinker usage. Apparently its a lost art. I hate being behind someone and they switch lanes without using there blinker. They need to be pulled over, drug out of the car and kicked repetively.

Oh my goodness, we need to get together and ride around and do this to people.  I'd be right with you on it!

From Merriam-Wester's dictionary:

1bream

Pronunciation: \[ch712]brim, [ch712]br[ch275]m\

Function: noun

Inflected Form(s): plural bream or breams

Etymology: Middle English breme, from Anglo-French, of Germanic origin; akin to Old High German brahsima bream, Middle High German brehen to shine

Date: 14th century

1: a bronze-colored European freshwater cyprinid fish (Abramis brama) ; broadly : any of various related fishes

2 a: any of various marine fish (family Sparidae) related to the porgy called also sea bream b: any of various freshwater sunfishes (Lepomis and related genera) ; especially : bluegill

I have a feeling that bream did not originally refer to the bluegill, but due to common usage in this country, it is now an accepted definition.  I could be wrong though.  ;)

I know this has nothing to do with fishing but I hate when my girlfriend squeezes the toothpaste tube from the top. I know, its not that big of a deal but it drives me crazy and now that I told her, she does it on purpose. And for a pet peave in fishing. People at the launch ramp. You know who you are. You have 2 or 3 people and you take up the dock and sit there while a person by himself is waiting to launch. When I have someone with me I get the boat away from the dock as soon as it is off the trailer. Even if my partner has to hold the boat and wait for me.

I hate when people pull out in front of you only to turn at the next street!!! >:(

And it really ticks me off if they do that and are turning left, then we all get held up because of that idiot!! >:(

Every where you look some one has a dam cellphone stuck to their ear.

That and ipods.... Here at Penn State we have some beautiful women, but how easy it to approach them when they have electronics in their ears 24/7. Maybe its done on purpose? Sneaky women..... :-/

mine has to deal with color names.....A lot of times a lures color might be called Bluegill but looks nothing like a bluegill at all

Spro calls this perch but that doesn't look like a perch where i live

When threads get locked just as they're getting good. I know this is a family site, but sometimes even families need a good argument.

I really like BassResource.com and will always enjoy it just the way it is, but I totally agree with you Daniel.  An intense, respectful debate can be a learning experience if we allow it to be.

--Losing a new lure before you even catch a fish with it

--Fisherman that get too close when fishing

"respectful" is the key word. As long as we feel that is the case,

threads are generally left open. An exception is redundancy, which

sometimes results in closing, too. We also have a few topics that

are simply old and stale. Does Senko vs everything come to mind?

Anytime you feel like you have been shortchanged on a thread, send

me a PM if you like. We are here to help, not hinder and member input

is always welcome.

p.s. Losing a lure on the first cast just frys me, too!
