Lobster Monster Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 There is a smaller lake next to a lake that I usually fish that I have become curious about and will try fishing in the next couple of weeks. I went and checked the lake out the other day for the first time and the water is very darkly stained. The only other time I've seen this color is from the tannin stain that Cyprus trees seem to produce. Does anyone have any ideas why it would be stained like this? The entire edge that I can see consists of Brazilian pepper trees and the bottom looks mostly sandy and mucky. The lake is located on Merritt Island, in Florida. Quote

I only fish one main lake and it was a shale quarry apparently so the water is kinda clear with a slight tinge of greenish brown. Quote
