ROCbass Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 My first baitcasting reel, a Team Daiwa advantage 150H. normally retails for ~ $100, was marked down to 49.95, plus 50% off lowest marked price. So I got the reel for $25, plus i had a $20 gift card so I only spent $5 out of pocket. Quote
bassmaster3000 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 mine would have to be my baitcaster at $30 off! ;D Quote
Ks panfish slayer Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Would be my 76 ranger, Its old but it floats and runs like a tiger. 500 bucks the 50 hp johnson is awsome on the small boat. Quote
Super User CWB Posted February 6, 2009 Super User Posted February 6, 2009 My wife's nice, too. I bought her a big house and she gave me the tool room off the garage. Pretty cool, huh? I feel your pain. Same here. She has 3 rooms with what I would consider useless junk And I get one small cubby hole in the garage. She's O.K. though. She's let me hang around for 28 years. ;D Quote
-HAWK- Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 My best deal ever would have to be my house. I purchased my house in 2008 for $200,000 less than what it was selling for in 2005. I really cant compare that to the $25 I saved at sports Authority when I bought MY Citica 200e Quote
deadeye32. Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I bought a citica D at Dicks a couple years ago because I had a $50 gift card. I was just going to pay the difference in cash when the lady gave me the reciept and the gift card back with $150 on it. So actually dicks paid me $100 and a reel. Now the bad news: My wife standing there says "I DONT THINK THATS RIGHT" . I know it was the right thing to do, but I was not too happy to say the least. Quote

We bought ours back in 2000 when the price was high and the interest rates were 5.65%. It would be a blood bath if we had to sell it now. Congratulations on the deal. Quote

Calcutta Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Free was my best deal. I was driving to my dads house on a back road when I found a carrot stick with a daiwa zillion on it laying in the middle of the road.I ran a ad in the paper for 4 weeks and no claims so I guess its mine. Quote

Having an honest wife is worth far more than 150 bucks and a reel. So yeah, it probably chafed at you but in the long run, you'll be happier. JMHO. Quote

Branuss04 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 My wife Wanda. Found her while stumbling around drunk 22 years ago down at Crystal Beach. She was 5'4, blonde 118 when we met, now she's 119. She works fulltime and I don't. Lets me fish when ever I feel like it. PLUS, she knocks down north of a hundred grand a year! Does she have a younger sister? Preferably one that will pack me a lunch and unload my car when I get home from fishing? Quote

bighed Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Caught a sale at Wally World a few years ago when they were reducing the size of their fishing dept. Bought about 15 Falcon Originals and Berkley Series One's for $9-$13 each. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 The day Dick's Sporting Goods accidently told me that ALL Xcalibur hardbaits were included in the 2.99 sale. Next great deal (today or tomorrow) will be a Daiwa 153 HSTA NIB for $100. Quote
thetr20one Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 2003 GSXR 600 for $3500. Absolutely beautiful bike. Retailed at the time I bought it for $5700. Previous owner lowered it 2", put a new header, carbon fiber muffler, K&N air filters and had the computer recalibrated. So he put over $1500 in aftermarket parts on it then he decided it was a little too much of a rocket for him. Quote

ilovefooffur Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Looks like you guys got some awesome deals! My best deal ever would be working for a company for 6 years where I only put in 6.5 hours a day, get off 1 or 2 days extra a week off during the summer time, off all holidays, get sent home early on regular occasions, get 10% of my salary cash for retirement purposes, plus leaving early for doctor's appointments weren't charged against me. When I did decide to quit, I was told I could look for work while working there and if I changed my mind about quitting, all would be okay. Quote
flippincrazy Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 My first Curado, paid full retail. I know how to cast because of that reel. ;D Quote
