For me it was a strike king 4s crank in white body black scale back. The LMB was 22 inches long and weighed 3 pounds 11 ounces about 2 years ago in the fall. Now to allot of guys thats a normal keeper but where I live that was a big bass.

April of 1992 on a purple culprit worm. 7 lbs 6 oz

It was back in the early 80's on a 12 inch Manns Jelly worm that I had originally bought as a joke. I believe it was a 12 incher, I remember they used to sell them in 2 packs. She weighed 15.7.

Sadly this was back in the old days when we just didn't know any better and everyone kept their catch. Hell, catch and release was a term used by fishermen who were just too lazy to clean their catch. Now days, I wouldn't even dream of killing such a magnificent animal.

BTW, the one in my avatar is only a 13 pounder.

A GYCB Flappin hog in color 301 (green pumpkin green and purple flake) t-rigged with a 3/0 Gammy EWG and a 1/4 oz tungsten weight.  Weighed 10 pounds 2 ounces, caught on Feb 10th 2008.

First two six-pounders on a black Cavitron buzzbait.

Second two six-pounders on a white grub.

Third two six-pounders on a drop shot using a finesse worm.

All were over six pounds each, but I don't really keep records on the fish I catch.

I just admire their beauty and let them go.  :)

But...with that said, I am going back and try to catch them all again this year.  :D

My personal best was also the first bass I ever caught. I caught it on a 4 inch watermelon Senko, bullet sinker pegged. I thought I caught a tree limb. It came up like an old boot but it's still the largest bass I've caught so far. That's the bass pictured in my avatar.

                 5 lbs, 3 oz.

Largemouth: 9 lbs 1oz, Lake Fork road trip (March), 3/4oz white spinnerbait

Smallmouth: 5lbs. 12oz, John Day River (September), wacky rigged Senko

Bass Chump:

5 lb. 3 oz. what a first bass. WOW.   I kinda relate it to shooting a 20" 10 point Whitetail the first time out hunting.  What a great way to start a fishing career....Very cool.  Great looking fish.
