Fish attractors?

So i saw them in the BPS catalog, and was wondering, are they legal to just put in one of your favorite bodies of water, it would be nice to have a spot that you know will usually always produce, but then gain, that's part of the fun ain't it? What do you guys think?

If you are concerned, you can check with your state department of fish and game department regarding public waters.

I am sure as long as you place the object where it is not a hindrance to boat traffic you may not have any problems.

On the other hand, your state department of fish and game may want to know where you are placing them.

The fish and game guys may also have some suggestions for you to consider.

Regarding private waters, you can always ask the property owners if it is OK.

I know of places where buys have placed bushes and trees to make nice brush piles that they only know.

Better safe than sorry when making changes to various bodies of water.

What type of attractants are you talking about?  There are the submersable lights that attract fish (never tried them) and then there are little plastic fake trees to create a brush pile.

In MD there are is a group of older men that fish a few clubs with that will go out and drop Christmas Trees in the water to creaet their own brush piles where no one else would know they are.  It's completely illegal and no one has ever been caught but once they get a few in them they'll mention it but they would sooner cut off an arm then tell you where they are.

The lakes I fish the most are reservoirs and the drinking water for Baltimore City so everything is very regulated but two of them are always vacant except for the anglers and boats.  One has a fishing center that would see what you are doing.

Long story short.....ask DNR in your area like previously stated.
