How can you have just one favorite pointer? :-? Since I do a lot of SM fishing I use smaller baits than some of you.

My list:

Pointer 78sp- Ghost minnow, Pearl Ayu, Baitfish Silver

Slender pointer 97mr- Ghost Minnow, Pearl Ayu, Kinkoro ayu

Pointer 65sp- Ghost minnow, Baitfish Silver

As you can see I only use a few colors of jerkbaits, I posted an article in on of these forums on the subject.

BTW: If anyone has a Slender Pointer 97mr in Baitfish Silver that they want to sell I will pay $25.

Munkin, that ghost minnow sure works well on the smallies huh.  man last spring I couldn't keep'm off the line- I found my staysee 90sp ghost minnow to be the best performer- I am sure you have it- if not get one now!

I think the pointer 78 is one of the truly great baits on the market today.

Agreed (and the 100)!

I don't have any colors I haven't caught fish on......Aurora Black, Nishiki, Table Rock Shad, etc...if I had a confidence color it would probably have to be Aurora Black, however.

No agrument with the 78 & 100, but my favorite lure to fish, not just my favorite Pointer, is the 128. I fish this big bait on a Lamiglas SR705R glass rod. This combination allows for maximum distance on the cast, further than you might imagine! You can really cover some water with the Pointer 128. Additionally, I caught by biggest smallmouth on an artificial bait using this lure.
