BucketmouthAngler13 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Bass season is just around the corner. The ice is on the thaw and the days are getting longer. Its time to put the shotgun on the rack and oil up the reels. I dreamed last night that I caught a 7lb bass on a t-rigged powerbait lizzard, which is clearly prophetic. And now that I have a job, my good old friend the baitmonkey will never go hungry, infact I'm feeding him right now. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 5, 2009 Super User Posted February 5, 2009 Bucket, I have to meet with a client that has a fantastic bass pond on his property to discuss a situation that will occur later this year so we made the appointment for the latter part of April when the weather will be warmer. Hey, you and I are thinking ahead. Can't wait for the appointment! Quote
joshuaryan Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 My season won't start until late April, but I'm sniffing hard!!!! Quote
Eddie Munster Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Here in Georgia the winter has been colder than any in recent memory but each day I look at my boat and start getting ansy. Since I really only got back at fishing last summer, I can't wait to go during the spawn and maybe nail a DD. Quote

tritz18 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 another 6 inches of snow and degrees in the teens sure made it hard to sniff around here, but i still have faith that spring is coming sooner rather than later. IT BETTER! > Quote

Tooth Dr Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I think the temp is supposed to be about 60 degrees tomorrow. I live on lake Guntersville in AL where I can walk to the water. The question: What will I do tomorrow? Reality, I prefer boat fishing to bank (pier) fishing; so, the Yamaha/Triton will be running for most of my fishing. Dr T Quote

Yesterday, it was 8 degrees with snow on the ground and I only live a few miles from you. It is 10 degrees this morning and the snow is still there. Optimism is great, but I am not taking the cover off my boat just yet. LOL Ronnie Quote
Ks panfish slayer Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Well ive been smelling it for a month. But here in SE kansas all the lakes have been frozen over for a month and the ice is to thin and ice fishing isn't for me. But tomarrow its going to be 70 and sunny and the old ranger and I will be on the water. Quote

When it was 8 degrees out, I was running around town in just my underwear (my BPS brand underwear, mind you!) leaping and shouting "SPRING IS HERE!!!! SPRING IS HERE!!!" and handing out fishing magizines to all the little children to promote the next generation of anglers. The funny thing is, "enthusiasm" and "optimism" are the exact words the police chief used...... :-/ Quote
Captain Obvious Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 OK where you handing out things to children in your underwear those poor kids, lol ;D ;D ;D but I don't know what you guys are talking about, that smell is there air we breath down here in Texas all year long, hope you guys enjoy the whiffs Quote

BARON49_Northern NY Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 The record low temp for this area was set last Tues an -29 degrees. Record snow of over 180 inches so far this year have hit the area, but why am I smiling? 7 more days to the start of my fishing season. I leave the snow and ice of Northern NY for the Kissimmee/St. Cloud area of Florida next Saturday morning. Have one week left to get the boat and truck loaded and ready. Quote
