ZeNoob Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Just spent the morning watching fishing shows. Then went to GanderMTN to burn up my gift cards and take advantage of there sales. I have respoiled all my reels, reorganized my tackle box. Watched the geese destroy the layer of ice on the pond outside. Im goin crazy!!! Bring me SPRING!!!!! Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 27, 2008 Super User Posted December 27, 2008 It 's hunting season down here, not cuz we can 't fish, it 's cuz it 's the only time of the year we can shoot at something without getting a hefty fine. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted December 27, 2008 Super User Posted December 27, 2008 I catch my first bass of the year in late Feb. That's not all that far away! Quote
BARON49_Northern NY Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I will be sitting on the water in sunny Florida around mid Feb....can't wait! Quote
brian_82 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Find some open water and go fishing. Fish do eat year round. Quote
Quinn Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 It was spring here in Missouri yesterday, it hit 69 degrees here with tornado warnings, and major thunder and lightning, scary, good news is it thawed my local fishing lake out so I'm gonna bundle up and give it a try tomorrow 8-) Unfortunately the next round is a day away Quote
snuffy33 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 It feels like it here in Indy - 69 degrees. Only problem is the 2 inches of water on top of the ice. Quote
diver_sniper Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Two days before Christmas was the 5 month mark for me. Season opens up May 23rd in Minnesota. On the up side, with less time to fish, the time we do have holds a little extra excitement. On the downside, not fishing sucks! Hold in there guys. We'll make it! Quote
SkeeterRonnie Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 fished today on a VERY windy Ray Hubbard. couple little ones in the few hours I was out there. kinda tough with the cold water. gonna try for some big fish tomorrow Quote
zbass Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Like snuffy said. 68 deg in central IN. yesterday. 40-60 mph winds last night and 28 deg this morning. Welcome to IN. Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 This is my least favorite time of the year! I can't stand waiting for Spring! I usually start fishin again in January for panfish, I use a 5"5' ultralite and hop around a small trout magnet with no weight other then the little trout magnet jigheads. Some days I catch 20 crappie, other days I get 1-2, and a sunny. I had a few atypical days last year, one of which I caught a sucker, and another I caught a 20inch carp. Man you should have seen that fight on an UL 5"5'. So I'll be out playin around sooner or later, but all in all theres nothing like Spring. Im tempted to go out to my favorite bass lake, and play around pitchin jigs to a few stickpiles. Im pretty sure I'll get nada. But anythings better then sittin indoors all day... Quote
