Recently, i had a memory 'spike' (as i call it) and remember years ago using a lure called Gene Larew Skirted Salt Craws.

As my memory spike recalls, these were deadly on bass.

Problem in today's memory world, they seem to be non-exsistent.

Anybody else remember these or know of a company that makes something like this?

You're not dreaming. Larew made such a creature as well as a floating model. Not sure what happened to them but I know they clearanced the heck out of them many years ago when the local sporting goods store closed. Might find them on E-Bay if they're still not made. Several companies do sell just the skirt collars though. You could always buy those and add them to any existing craws you might have to get the same basic effect.

'gator, thanks for the info.

I've been to the 'Larew site hundreds of times and since i idid not see the skirted versions listed, i just thought they were no longer made.

Seems like they could move more inventory if it stated somewhere besides the checkout line that these are available.

But then again that's just my own opinion.

I want to thank everybody that responded; this bait has landed many, many bass for me in the past and i expect to be hookin' some hogs again soon with these, thanks to you all!!

Hoss, I 100% agree with you. The only reason I knew where to look was that I stumbled on the path while looking for the 7.5'' Salty Ring Tail. I must have looked a half dozen times and finally just fell into the right spot.

The 7 1/2" Salty Ring Tail is Catt's #1 bait if that means anything

to you. He fishes them, generally, with a 1/4 oz weight, unpegged.

Most of his success is on structure in deeper water. Food for thought?

It certain does. After reading Catt's posts that is the exact reason I was looking for the worms. This gator is not too proud to learn from the successful guys on this board ;D

Now if I could just get *** to get make a version, in Catt's favorite color, I could get the best of this board in one shot.

Thanks RW, I think :)

The problem with Gene Larew's web site is if you do not click on the buy online link you will not see every thing they have to offer.

Oh...You share so much helpful information with us you might not

remember posting that trick. If you had told me this "in confidence"

I wouldn't say a thing.
