Bassboss Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 How would it be if I used a wacky rig on a drop shot? It seems to me that it would be getting you bait down deep but still being able to fish a weight less bait. What do you guy think? Quote
zbass Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 That will never work. That is the rig that I caught my first dropshot fish on. Give it a try. Quote
senko_77 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 This is how I fish my dropshot. It works. Quote
Danny1991 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I've tried it but I always have better luck just nose hooking the plastic :-/ Quote
Super User islandbass Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 The wacky rig is very effective on the drop shot. Enjoy! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 Ike fishes his this way? BTW that finesse fishing video he did is good. Allen Quote
BARON49_Northern NY Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I tried fishing a Zoom finese worm this Summer as a wacky drop shot and did very well with Smallmouths. Quote
Matt 825 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Guys up here in New England swear by wacky rigging worms on a drop shot rig. I nose hook my drop shot baits mostly, but if I am using a 5" worm then I wacky rig it. It flat out works great, just cast it out and let it sit there and they will eat it!!!! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 Its just a means to cut out the ten minute wait for a Senko to fall in 15+ FOW. Works great. I'll often use a 3' drop line, and the bait is in that "zone" much quicker than the guy waiting forever for it to get down there. It zips down through the unproductive water, and then does its thing for the last few feet. Very effective. Quote
IDbasser Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I use it with senko style worms. It does well. Quote
TournyFish001 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 this has been a viable tactic for deeper smallmouth in my area- give it a shot Quote
