Stickling Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 iight im tired of this.. Ive never seen senkos before. I have heard so muc habout them. Is it like plastic baits? wuts there website? Quote
Will Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Senkos are great baits once you learn how to fish them. I was stubborn and refused to buy them until I got my butt kicked in a tournament when a guy behind me caught fish after fish on senkos. Their are many different companies that produce senkos including Yamamato, Wave Worms, Kinami, and Luck E Strike. Just about every wal-mart will have some kind of senkos. Here is the website of the Kinami senkos they call them "Flash" https://www.kinamibaits.com/products.html Quote

D.Taylor Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 All salt impregnated stick worms are not the same. The more salt the faster they sink. I have had people argue with me about the differences and i usually win when i pull out a Yamamoto senko or a Kinami Flash and compare it to the softness and the weight of there brand of choice. Chris Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 All i can say is try them some do and some don't fall the same as a senko. Some of the off brands work well some stink. If i where you i would stick with the original. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 12, 2005 Super User Posted January 12, 2005 It's not just about the way they fall or the quiver they make. Senkos feel good/ taste good to fish. I have boated some little fish that were NOT hooked, the little guys just wouldn't let go. The knock on the bait is durability- so what? Would you rather catch a REAL BIG bass or two per worm or fish all day with another brand and not get a bite? I quit using the 5" worm 'cause I caught too many fish. My biggest largemouth have been caught on 6" Senkos although last year I actually landed more 5+ lb fish on the Ika. Quote
drr Posted January 12, 2005 Author Posted January 12, 2005 thanks alot, I think I am starting to get the picture, I always thought the salt was just for attractant purpose to the fish, and didn't realize it was for the buoyancy Quote
Pond-Pro Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Is a Kiname Flash the same exact thing as a Senko? I would like the correct answer, because I have heard a lot of opinions about it. Thanks Quote
D.Taylor Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I cant say they are the exact same but Kinami Baits is owned by Dirk Yamamoto there are only 7 flashes per package where senkos come in counts of 10 there is where the price difference is. I use both and dont see a difference in either. JT Bagwell should be able to answer this. Quote
Will Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Kinami Flash are made from the same mold that the Yamamato senkos are made from. Their are most likely some differences in the amount of salt though. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 The Gary Yamamoto Senko and the Kinami Flash are they exact same bait. They have different color selections available, but they are identical baits. The only difference is the avenue in which they are marketed. Gary didn't want to market the Senko to large chain stores like Wal-Mart (and others). Derek on the other hand, saw this as a huge segment of potential customers. As a result he asked Gary Yamamoto for permission to start his own company and market these proven baits under a different name, to the chain stores. That is how Kinami was formed. JT Bagwell Quote
Lil Baby Cousin Ray-Ray Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Strike Kings 3X version of the senko is more durable and very buoyant which allows for some variationsin your presentation. i like to drop shot rig the 3x version and fish it slowly in stumpy areas. Quote
Lil Baby Cousin Ray-Ray Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 maybe im out of the loop but i dont get your slang. what does digging up bones mean Quote
NEBassMan Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 sorry man. Nothing personal meant by anything. I just thought it was humorous to see a couple old Senko topics brought back from over a year ago. I'm in a weird mood today Jason 1 Quote
