Super User Catt Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 I know being snowed in or frozen in has to be tuff but how about perfect weather & can't go :'( There has been low cloud cover all week with moderate fog Today: Hi 71 20% chance of rain Tonight: Lo 61 20% chance of rain Friday: Hi 73 30% chance of rain Tonight: Lo 61 20% chance of rain Saturday: Hi 72 slight chance of T-stms Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 I think you are correct. When it's cold, and snowing, and blowing, and the ponds are frozen, I do not look at them with an urgent desire to wet a line. I am anxious for the return of warm weather, but I'm not going to wish my life away. However, when it's a bluebird day, and it would be great to be on the water, but other commitments prevent it, it really eats at me. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Geezzz Tom, I feel for you. Next time it's sub freezing and snowing here ( All day this Friday) and you and your Southern brothers are poking fun at us I may not be so understanding Quote
IDbasser Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Well it is 2 degrees here right now, expecting snoe later today. It was -6 on my way home yesterday morning. (and yes that is a minus sign) Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Yep, we have had similar weather here too Catt and I have been tied up in the house with some mystery illness drooling every time I look outside. Quote
Daniel A. Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I'm with ya, Catt. That's worse than dealing with snow and hard water. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 I know being snowed in or frozen in has to be tuff but how about perfect weather & can't go :'( There has been low cloud cover all week with moderate fog Today: Hi 71 20% chance of rain Tonight: Lo 61 20% chance of rain Friday: Hi 73 30% chance of rain Tonight: Lo 61 20% chance of rain Saturday: Hi 72 slight chance of T-stms Don 't you hate it when it happens ? that horrible weather and no chances of wetting a line , Gotta say that we are in the same boat, this weekend it 's HER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY and I don 't think I can get away with it, I value too much my hide to make the mistake of going fishing. Super User senile1 Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Catt, at least you know that the next time good weather comes around it won't be two to four months down the road and, hopefully, you'll be available to scratch that itch. Quote
tyrius. Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I know being snowed in or frozen in has to be tuff but how about perfect weather & can't go :'( Hmm, I say suck it up buttercup!!!! ;D You've got to wait what a few days to go fishing? Try a few months on for size. And then add in the freezing rain (accumulating ice) plus the 8 or so inches of snow we're supposed to get. I'd rather it be 70 with a chance of rain and not be able to go fishing than 20 with freezing rain/sleet/snow. > Quote

Super User fishfordollars Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Posted December 18, 2008 Catt, I went to Lake Conroe. they were absolutely knocking slack in the line. I fished a blade and a crankbait out off the river channel. Largest was just over 4 lbs. and I caught 17 in 4 hours though most would not make the 16" mininum. Made up for the *** kicking we took from the wind Saturday. I am planning on going next Tuesday if the weather is not to bad if you would like to join me. I tried my best to get them to eat a jig and t-rig, but never had a sniff. Quote
jack1 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I'm like a crack head. It's hard to give it up and at first it's tough, but I'll eventually level out until spring starts poking at me and then I'm hooked again. Quote
farmpond1 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Quit it guys, my eyes are welling up! Amen, brother! Quote
