U.W BronzeBack Hunter Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I know there has been numerous past polls on this very question, but since then, the economy has come to sh!t, and i'm interested to see the results : ;D NOTE: NOT INCLUDING GAS MONEY FOR YOUR BOAT (IF YOU OWN ONE). BUT YES, INCLUDE THE COST OF ANY BOATING GEAR THAT YOU WOULD BUY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CATCHING THE BIG UN'S. Quote
U.W BronzeBack Hunter Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Lets see.... i need to replace a spinning rod that snapped in my rod locker.... stock up on some more lures (BAITMONKEY STRIKES AGAIN!).... 2 baitcast reels i've ordered recently are being shipped to me right now..... and next fall, i'm planning on buying a new trolling reel for trout. Super User skunked_again Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 2000-3000$ 1 (16.6%) thats me. im geared up for the most part but being a boat owner that still needs stering cables and general service..................... Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 Between insurance, gasoline, taxes, tournament entry fees and new equipment between $1000 and $1500. Maybe more. Quote
eatnsleepfishing Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Would this include the 4750.00 I just sent for entry fees? Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 Would this include the 4750.00 I just sent for entry fees? what are you fishing? thats very costly. Quote
Branuss04 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 With the crumbling economy, I had to get rid of the girlfriend so I can maintain a steady addiction to fishing.. probably spend a little more than last year. somewhere around 1000 Quote

simplejoe Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I picked 1000-1500. Between buying new rods and new tackle, then I figured buying stuff for the boat, I figured I'll be right around there or more. SHHHHHHHHHHHH that's a secret don't tell the wife that. : Quote
Flywatersmallie Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Boy.... I spend maybe $50 a week, every week on baits alone, I have a bit of a weakness I'm sure many can relate to, for shiny new things. That alone is around $2500. Throw in a couple new rigs that I end up buying every year and we are at roughly $3k. Buying a boat in spring, does that count? Quote
Super User grimlin Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 $500-$1000...kinda figured out that's about what i spend last year as well. This year it's gonna be more rods and reels instead of baits. That could change though....If the big 3 doesn't get their $25 billion bailout...my job is in jeopardy. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted December 1, 2008 Super User Posted December 1, 2008 In gas and diesel alone I spend $2500 or more. Quote
Black Bass Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Would this include the 4750.00 I just sent for entry fees? eatnsleepfishing how'd you do this year? Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted December 2, 2008 Super User Posted December 2, 2008 1000-1500 for me next yr i have too many lures so thats out all i want is a few revo winches or inshores and maybe a few shimano rods Quote
KevO Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Less than this year probably, since I spent like $2500 on rods and reels this year. I don't think I will be purchasing any of those this year. So I said $500-1000, that will cover most of the baits and whatever else I need. Although, I am going for a job interview on Wed. if I get this job then it will substantially higher because i will have a bass boat. Quote

bassinri Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I spend about 2000 to 3000 every year and dont even realize it. The way I figure it out is by the free 20 dollar gift certificates I get from dicks and the points from Bass Pro. It amazing how fast it adds up! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 2, 2008 Super User Posted December 2, 2008 Whatever it takes. Quote
SkeeterZX225 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Most definetely $5000+. Got atleast 4 long distance trips planned next year. Two to Guntersville, and two to Dale Hollow. Plus fishing every week, boat payments, tournament entry fees, gas, oil for boat, normal tackle replacement, etc. I spent somewhere upwards of $4000 just in diesel fuel this year to pull the boat to the lake every week. You got to pay to play!!!! Quote
