Here is a suggestion that I don't do.  I guess it works but I don't know anyone who does this.

I read off my 2008 fishing calendar so I would think it is a valid suggestion.

Use a wet sure-grip cotton glove to hold bass.

Do not hold bass around middle as it can cause internal damage.

So, does anyone out there do this?

Muddy, you do this?  :)

Hey Sam: Since most of my fish come from; Jigs,Weightless T rigs and wacky rigged using circle hooks; most of my bass are relatively easy to shake off right at the boat.

For my topwater and plug fish usually a quick flick with a long nosed pliers. If I must handle I just wet my hands and be as careful as possible.

I still prefer the Bass O Matic, becuase it is so ecologically sound

This reminds me of an old lure that I'm certain isn't made anymore. It was a crank bait with a cage like middle that let you put chum or live bait in.

In regard to holding bass by the lip...when they get over 10 lbs use a glove otherwise those little bumps/teeth/?? on their lips will tear your hand up!
