-nick- Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 My pic of the pointers I scored is neat and all, but I would seriously heed my advice and buy some beaver bugs. I'm tellin' ya...it's like Roadwarrior talking about the fat Ika (granted I'm sending him some beaver bugs, so we'll see how they compare). I use Reaction Innovations Beavers as well, but that Roadkill Beaver Bug dominates. How do you rig them? Quote
bkraig4life Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Â I got to meet Jimmy Houston, what a great guy! He was totally into any question about anything fishing and could not have been more informative. Everythig we asked, he took us right to the aisle that was sold at and then explained why he would modify a given lure or pick a different bait then explained why it worked for him, without any pushing of his own product. I thought he would try to push whatever he is sponserded by but he just is into fishing. What a great moment! Quote
Btech Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Didn't stick around for much of their demo's and such. The place was packed. But i did Conn my wife into letting me get my new Boat Seats . Got 2 Passenger /pilot seats and 2 1/4 circle ones for fish in ... regularly 160$ walked out for 102$ ... Saves me more money for a bilge pump! Quote

BassLaw13 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I was at the Olathe store on Sunday and got some micro cranks, couple of jerk baits, couple of packs of soft plastics, some tungsten weights and my big purchase was my new Daiwa Zillion BC. Â Can't wait to try this baby out! Quote
R@ngerman195vs Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 ( Well I got some jig heads, quite a few actually. I can now say after being at the Harrisburg store 3 times, THIS STORE IS A DUMP! Especially compared to the Cabelas in Hamburg. The staff at the reel counter were not that well informed, ABOUT BPS REELS, they would not honor a catalog price for another customer i saw arguing with them and the store was poorly stocked The catalog does offer a good selection of some nice products, particularly their house branded reels but I am more pleased with Cabelas, by far! I may be wrong, but I doubt the guys working the reel counter have the authority to price match. That customer would be far better off going to the customer service desk and asking them to take care of it. I've never had them refuse to match their catalog or online prices. Similar experience at the Harrisburg BPS: Online sale of BPS Swimbait kits $39.99 vs in store price of $59.99. I talked to the tackle guys (one said customer service would match and another said i had to bring in a printout of the sale from the Website). Went to Customer service - they refused to match the price - called the tackle guy to the counter and he treated me like I was the a55! I went home and ordered online. Irritating. > Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I got absolutely nothing on sale instead i walked out spending $300 on the Hummingbird Fishing buddy the 140 model(the color) portable depth finder for my jon boat. Â And some Spiderwire Ultracast 100% floro. Â Then i had to get out ASAP, didnt even look at anything else Quote

IDbasser Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I went to the BPS in Las Vegas while I was there. Â I got a pic with Edwin Evers, and a hat autographed. Â I also got a new Lowrance color fish finder for the bow of my boat. Â I wanted some Netbait Paca Chunks but that store apparently did not carry them. Â I even printed off the price of them from tackle warehouse to try to get a price match. > Â I watched a couple of seminars from Edwin Evers, and they were good. Â It was fun. Quote
