Every now and then i go fishing for bass in a abandon gravel quary that was filled and stocked.  I know that there is huge bucketmouths in there.  The water is krystal clear and you can see them swimming around in the weeds.  I've tried everything from worms to spinners.  I was wondering if you guys have any ideas for me.  If you do let me know.  Thanks

How good of a view can you get of them?  I'd try some live bait to see if they'll bite, never know if there is something similar in size that looks like a bass from a distance but won't touch a lure.  Besides that I'd go to a Senko or a smaller grub and just let it sit with maybe a tiny wiggle here or there.  The area I fish tends to be a bit overfished and they only seem to hit the plastics after much debate, trepidation, and review.  They'll stare at it for over a minute sometimes.

if you can see the bass they can see you. If they can see you they probably wont bite. Try standing farther away from the bank.

this is solid advice. a lot of people think that fish like bass (being so aggressive and such) aren't easily spooked, but they're wrong. using caution to avoid them seeing you is common practice for trout, but so many people don't use the same strategy for other fish.

That's why it's called fishing & not catching   ;)

Keep chunking & reeling!

The last few days I have been fishing in very clear water and have been tossing *** rigged wacky and wieghtless to the fish I was seeing cruising in the shallows (2-6ft) and hooked up with most of the fish I was targeting.
