About a Month ago, I went Stripper Fishing here in the NE. I have a buddy of mine that has been at me for over 4 years to teach him. So I called him and told him I had an empty seat in the boat. He was excited, ubntil I told him that I leave my Driveway at 0230 to be on the Ocean for 0430. He outright called me nuts and said that he'd be sleeping(His loss. It was a 30+ Fish day).

2 weeks ago, my nieghbor asked me to take him Bass Fishing. SURE!!! I replied. Tomorrow morning. Be in my Driveway at 0400 so that I can be on the Lake by 0445. "No Way". I'll just sleep in tomorrow then. :-/

The owners of my Campground tell me that I am NUTS becasue I am up every Saturday and Sunday Morning and on my boat by 0445 (we have a seasonal on a lake and my Boat is moored there). I just reply that it's perfectly normal for an angler to get up with the Fish.

What has happened? Am I the only Angler that get's up with the Fish these days? Am I going out of my mind chasing our beloved Bass? I am usually back at the Camper and cooking Breakfast for the Wife and Kids by 0900, so it works out perfectly for me to fish in the mornings. If I fish in the evenings, I miss out on the Camp Fire, Smores, putting the kiddos to bed, it's just a PITA to fish the evenings.

So, tell me. Do you get up early and fish? Or are you a 9ish kinda Angler?

Hmm...

I suspect most of the "old farts" have already had a cup of coffee and a couple of cigaretts by 4:30...

In this neighborhood, it's my job to get the birds up!

If I can avoid waking up early I will. But for tournaments, they start early, so I suck it up and do it.

Some guys just have different priorities I guess.

I always try to be on the water before the roosters start crowing.  I love that topwater bite first thing in the morning.  Having a fish or two in the boat before the sun comes up.  Oh, and I take my coffee with me.

Going to  be at my local pond at 0500 in the morning.  Just taking a couple of different color trick baits to try a few different techniques I'm practicing at.  I've always been an "early to bed, early to rise" type of person. Love seeing the sun come up!

oh yeah I am on the lake by 4:30 sometimes 5:00 depends on how many cocktails I have the night before ;D. I like it because around here all the jetskies and water skiers start comming out around 9-10:00 and the smaller lakes I fish get pretty crowded. as a bonus I am able to fish for 5-6 hours and be home for lunch and I still have the rest of the day to hang out with the family and sometimes take the kid fishing ( he's only two so I don't take him when I try to fish hard) gotta love having the lake to your self for a couple hours.

One other point,, if you are first on the lake... you are first to the sweet spots that day....maybe that monster is wanting what you are serving for breakfast?   ;)

This time of year, on my days off, I skip the whole sleep part and go fishing! I'll be on the water around 3-4 AM and fish till noon. On days that I work, I'll sleep, get up around 5AM, and fish till 10-12.

In the winter time I get sleep in. Sun doesn't come up till 7AM or so.

Thankfully I'm one of those folks that when my eyes crack open I'm instantly awake, bright eyed, bushy tailed and happy about it. The added plus is my wife is just the opposite (night person) and it irritates her to no end ...

This time of year I either am out by 2:30 AM or go around 8:30 PM.

Around here in summer it's finished at 8:30 AM,unless of course you like 1 MPH breezes,92 degrees, nuclear sun,and 1-2 dinks to show for it.

hey, i definatily get on the water as early as possible. one because the water is coolest in the summer when the sun is not out and and that makes bass feed. also because the lakes where i fish get really crowded and i dont want to mess with that.

I like to launch while it's still dark and run to my first spot using a light so that I am actually fishing at first light.  That's in the late spring and summer.  When the water is cold in the winter I would rather fish when the sun is high.

I have always been hitting the water before the sun's up on the boat or on the ice. Im usually fishing by myself cause all ma'boy's are cupcakes and need there beauty rest.

I love getting up at the butt crack of dawn. I think one of the best things about it is cruising down the parkway, windows down, no traffic, no noise...then getting to the water as the sun is coming up. I love it.

I'm up at 4:30 every morning. Been known to drive to the lake(Three hours) at 8:oopm and sleep in my truck so I can be on the water early. You are not crazy, just devoted. Nothing wrong there.

I like to be on the water between 5 AM and 5:30 AM.  If I go later in the day I'll get there around noon and stay past dark.

I have the boat hooked up the night before and my fishing clothes laid out in a spare room so I don't wake SWMBO while getting ready.  I have a bagel already schmeared and in the refrigerator ready to go.  All I have to do is brush my teeth, put the tackle and Playmate cooler in the boat, and kiss the bride good-bye.  I pick up a cup of coffee at the local Petro station and get to the lake well before dawn.

I hate to go without shaving, so I will often shave before going to bed the night before so I don't feel so grubby.

The lake I fish has a lot of shallow stumps, so I dare not run to big motor until daylight.  I will start fishing a topwater close to the ramp until safe light.

There are very few things more satisfying than being on the water at first light, when all is quiet, except for the sounds of nature.  Living in a large city, I rarely get to experience these times away from the hustle and bustle, except at these early morning times.  It's worth losing a few ZZZZs.

As long as I can drop a good load, I am out of the house between 4:30 and 5:15.

Thank goodness there are restrooms at the ramp.  By the time I get there that coffee has kicked in and you will see me legging it trippingly toward the facilities.

Yup, there has been a few times where I had to look for an uninhabited island or shoreline to................well, you know. ;D
