gatorblazer Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 4.36 on a chart. spinnerbait in 46 Deg water around 1:30pm. Thats my best LM. It actually saved my tournament finish. However, I did catch a 10lb goose recently on a red eye shad, in mid air, in 80 deg weather. A dog scared up a gagle right when I was casting for a dock, and the bait hit a goose mid-takeoff. Never did get that bait back. 8-) Quote

Super User WRB Posted June 10, 2008 Super User Posted June 10, 2008 The time of day is only one factor to consider, the most important is the seasonal period and weather conditions for artifical lure fisherman. My top 5 bass, 17 lbs to 19 lbs were caught between 8A to 11A time period, pre spawn, cloud cover with slight wind or light rain. Mid day blue bird sunny days with calm conditions may favor the live bait fisherman, not the lure fisherman, we need help with low light conditions. WRB Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I caught my biggest bass at 6:35 AM on July 5th,2002 on a floating minnow bait(Rouge).I caught my 2nd biggest at around 6:25 AM the next morning on the same bait(different color). Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 11, 2008 Super User Posted June 11, 2008 February 3rd 2007 (7 am) was a nasty cold morning with Northwest winds at 15-20 mph, a slight misty rain falling, and temperatures in the middle 30's. After having launched out of Jack's 944 Marina I made the short (2 minutes) run to the mouth of Bull creek trying to stay out of the wind and some what warm. Having rounded the corner I dropped the trolling motor, picked up my Rat-L-Trap rod again with the thought in mind of keeping moving and staying warm. My third cast was into the mouth a cut leading to a boat shed which I knew had stumps on the west side, after turning the handle 4 or 5 time my trap stopped solid, I tell Pat d**n to close to the stumps so I push the trolling motor handle towards the mouth of the cut while stepping on the switch. At the exact same instance my line starts zinging towards deeper water rod all bowed up & drag slipping; I immediately scream at Pat get the net. By now the boat is moving off to my left the bass is moving off to my right and I'm nearly on my knees in front of the console with the upper third of the rod in the water. Pat net in hand is now on the front deck killed the trolling motor and with a swift motion netted the hawg; which ends up weighing in at 12 pounds 8 ounces. Quote

sal669 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Mid july, around 2:30pm, 5-09lb on black/blue 3/8oz jig w/ same color craw trailer. I fished all morning with reasonably good results, mostly shallow weedy water; about 10:30 the bite died off so I went "scouting" since I just got a fish finder a couple weeks earlier. I get to an area with stumps on the side of the old creek channel wich I would never fished if not for the FF. I start casting the jig ahead of my drifting canoe and surprise (?), they were home !!! I got some of the biggest LMB of the reservoir, all of them about 4.5-5 lb, with the 5-09lb thrown in for good measure. My best bass fishing day so far. Quote
kms399 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I caught mine last year at about 4 pm. I was in the bwcaw and it was my 5th cast of the season and my first fish of the year it ran 5lbs 90z for MN that is a decent fish. Quote
