Fishhook12 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Ok wear would the big bass be lurking in the middle of July in a small pond? Would they be in deep water structure or shallow structure? Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted June 9, 2008 Super User Posted June 9, 2008 most likely under matted vegitation if there is any. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 9, 2008 Super User Posted June 9, 2008 most likely under matted vegitation if there is any. Also, in deeper water associated with structure. In a pond I fish, the larger bass patrol a ledge off the bank 8-12 yards. I occasionally find a few in the channel of the original stream, but this is not a feature of many ponds. 8-) Quote
CJ Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I would agree that they would seek an area with the highest oxygen levels or the cooler water. It's possible that they haven't gone anywhere, it's just very tough to get them to bite. Quote

grid Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The larger ones are always on the opposite side of the pond when I fish. ;D Quote
