Andrew Coleman Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Can somone tell me if there being wind would cause bass to move or be more or less agressive? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 30, 2008 Super User Posted May 30, 2008 Wind can blow plankton into the bank. Baitfish follow and predators are right behind them. Sometimes this can turn into a great opportunity. 8-) Quote
Super User Raul Posted May 30, 2008 Super User Posted May 30, 2008 I visit ocassionaly a lake called "Los Reyes" near the town of San Felipe up in the sierra, the place when the wind doesn 't blow becomes a cementary, you catch nuthin ', add a little wind or better a strong wind and you are in business. Still a Bigbuckifan Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 A little wind, I think turns bass on. when you fish moving baits like spinnerbaits or rattletraps the bass cant see them as well.I hope this helps Quote
hawgchaser Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 All things the same, I will always fish the bank that the wind is blowing into. Many fisherman try to get out of the wind bc its a pain to fish in. However, I think that many times that is the wrong move. Quote
peidy_p Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I look for points were the wind blows across and creates current. Wich makes for great ambush spots for bass. Quote
-BassMasterBling- Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 i usually fish the side of the lake that the wind is blowing towards with a spinnerbait and i do really well. the wind pushes in the little bait fish Quote
Staff Sergeant--USMC Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 On windy days, my first priority is to fish on wind blown banks! Bait fish are blown to these banks and the bass will follow. I was fishing this past weekend at Douglas Lake in East, TN; we had 25+ MPH winds and I fished entirely on wind blown points. Every time I went out, I caught fish using a spinnerbait! Hope this helps! Quote
hawghunter1744 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 definitely definitely definitely spinnerbait Quote
RWHusker. Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Bait fish are blown to these banks and the bass will follow Wind can blow plankton into the bank. Baitfish follow and predators are right behind them Thanks RW, I always heard that the wind blew the bait fish and that didn't make since to me, however baitfish following their food source does.
