big old, sexy, wooden, slow creeping, wakebait, about 10-13"

Don 't need to wear nuthin 'to be attractive.  :)

You asked, I replied.  ;D

I'm certainly no expert but on the (swim) baits I have and have changed hooks on, the Owner ST-36 or ST-41. (depending on the bait)  For your bait in question, a 1/0 or 2/0 depending on the how and where it attaches would be my guess.

And yes, they are a little more but everyone I know would gladly pay an extra buck or two per bait to get decent hooks.

I think I'd be trolling that bad girl. Put about three ounces weight, about 3' of leader, and run it 75 yards behind the boat on 4 pound test, over 2 feet of water. About 6.5 MPH sounds about right.

Oh, and hang a couple of #8 Aberdeen hooks on it. Wouldn't want to upset the balance, you know?

PLEASE DON'T SKIMP ON THE HOOKS!!!  I hate when companies put on crappy hooks.  I would gladly pay an extra dollar or two for good hooks.  Stick with 2X owners.  Either 1/0 or 2/0

I know better than to skimp on hardware, I want what YOU GUYS use,...that's why I'm taking advantage of having you guys at my fingertips.  You guys are the ones in the field with experience.  :D:)

Well back on the subject, the only way for sure which size hooks would be ok for the girl ( and you calling her old, don 't ya know how sensitive women are  ::) )  I 'd say, get a couple of 1/0s and a couple of 2/0s, put them on and see which one keeps the action of the bait better, there 's really no way for sure until it has the hooks on and how it behaves in the water.

Owner ? oh yes sir, Owner pleez.

If you were a big old, sexy, wooden, slow creeping, wakebait, about 10-13",.....what hook would you wear???

Maybe if she were a YOUNG and sexy,  then I might buy one.  I prefer the young (legal) ones (Jay  :-X).  I think your targeting just Team Depends when you describe it as old.  Let me guess, it's got squeaky joints also????

Nothing but Owners on most of my big baits. I have used Gamakatsu  and straighted out way too many hooks reeling in fish. Thats why most swimbaiters use Owners.

Using Owners to switch out factory hooks.  ST36 and 41 like Keith said.

Owner makes a great split ring too.

I lost 2 Tuna in 3 days one yr. Why?  Straightened Gammy's.

I'm going with the Owners.  I'll bring 1/0 and 2/0 down to Kentucky and we can all figure out which ones work best.

Thanks for the input guys :)

T-Rig, I like the idea of the magic eye, I just have zero faith in the quality of Gamakatsu in general.

They just cost me tooo much $$ in lost fish.  I could understand if it was 1/2 my fault, putting the boots to the fish, over fighting them, but that was not the case.  Normal fishing,...straightened hooks.  Bummer.
