What size fish (average pound) do you normally catch? Before you answer I know we anglers are big liars. So, try to be truthful.

I fish mostly in the Northeast where average largemouth tend to be about 2-3 lbs.  I consider anything over 5lbs a nice fish for my area.

I'm in northern Colorado, and our fish are northern largemouths. I measure almost every fish, and over time have weighed enough that I can estimate pretty well.

In the waters I fish, most mature males run 13-15inches (1.25 to 1.75lbs), and most mature females run 14 to 20 inches (1.4 to 4.9 lbs). A very few fish will dip into the 7lb range.

I hear rumors of larger but have never seen such an animal. I have also had numerous people tell me thier 5lbers were 18 inches long! Possible, but I haven't seen such an animal either. The most outlandish weight for length I took last year was a 19.25 inch that was an ounce shy of 5lbs. A internet buddy took a 21.5 inch that broke 7lbs. And the CO state record was 22.5" and 11lbs 6oz. :o

So far this year I have 23 bass over 4# and 1,054 bass under 4# so I would guess my average is around a pound and 1/2

Wow,...that's like 10 fish per day EVERY SINGLE DAY since Jan 1 !!   I thought I was on the water a lot, lol, do you guide?

LOL, LBH, no I just catch a bunch on each outing. I've fished 28 days since the first of the year. I'm retired and fish during the week and pick highly productive waters and use highly productive presentations. I have found that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the least pressured days for the fish.

So far this year I've been averaging around 1 1/2 pounders BUT that IS going to CHANGE now that I have my new H3 Freestyle float tube/mini-pontoon and ProCraft bass boat....... I hope:o)

Average 4 pounders!!!! You guys are killing me!

I probably catch 6 fish in the over/under 1 pound range for every fish in the 2 to 5 pound range.

6+ pound fish are rare for me.

Oh well, still plenty-o-fun.

:D

I would say my average is almost exactly the same around KC.

it depends where i fish, in some ponds that i go to all the bass are one pound or less. while where i went yesterday i caught about 15 bass and they all weighed at least 2 1/2 pounds.  my biggest yesterday was around 4 pounds, but that was the best fishing i have ever experienced on that body of water.  i would say the average fish for me is anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 pounds here in massachusetts.  i consider anything bigger than 5 pounds a good one.
