I hope you all post the web site to view the coverage of the products.

ICAST is outstanding and we should be thankful to Glenn for attending and then posting his input.

So....thanks Glenn for attending.

Glenn,

I will be there with my wife, she has never been to Vegas and she saw the flyer that came in the mail and was like "Let's Go!"  Needless to say I jumped on it.  Are you staying at the headquarters hotel?  Also, I have never been to an Icast are there some good deals on products or is a mainly a showcase with tons of Freebies?

Thanks,

Rob

ICAST is not a consumer show. In fact, selling is prohibited on the showroom floor and the general public is not invited.  There really aren't any freebies either.

The show is primarily for wholesale buyers/sellers with the media invited to preview upcoming products for the next year.  This is where the manafacturers debut their new gear and innovations that will be available 3-6 months down the road.  They are all vying for attention from the press and buyers, so there's a lot of celebrities, flashy booths, and showmanship.  Kinda fun to watch, really.

But the primary reason it exists is so that manufacturers can lock in huge orders for the upcoming year.  So you'll see reps from BassPro, Cabela's, etc. talking to Shimano, Berkley, Diawa, etc. wheelin' and dealin', plus they're looking for new products to carry from new companies.

I get the fun job - looking at all the new stuff and reporting back to you guys what I find.   :D

Or maybe G Loomis will come out with a split grip ;D

That's the only thing that has stopped my from buying one already. Maybe one day they will get with it and release a split grip rod in the BCR series.

Y'all have fun at ICAST.  Take plenty of good pics!!

I'll be there with bells on. With the SKLCo folks. Will catch Glenn there for a beer (or two). Just got back from a week of NOT FISHING. You know, some people call that a vacation, but I call it "BORING". Hope my wife doesn't read this, she'll make me do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who knows, maybe Loomis and Croix will update their rods so you don't feel like you are fishing with a broom handle. And Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft will float. ;D

I hope not...I love G Loomis (and I hate split grip).  They are the last good rod company not following that fad (though, I assume they soon may)
