bass wrangler569 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 So there is this small, 300 acre lake near me (I'll leave out the name) that I absolutely cannot buy a bite on. I have fished this lake time after time and I rarely catch bass in it. It has a reputation for large fish that are tough to catch. I have fished and caught tons of bass on many different lakes but I have never had problems like I do at this place. The lake is shallow (it gets to 30ft at the dam but the vast majority of the lake is under 10ft) and filled with grass. The water is usually stained to muddy. There is not a lot of visible cover. I have tried all the typical presentations that usually work in grass (ripping lipless cranks, flipping/pitching, spinnerbaits along edges) and I am running out of options. Any suggestions? Quote
wisturkeyhunter Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I'd try fishing it slow with soft plastics rigged texas and weightless. Surest way to catch fish other than livebait which might be an option for you. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 I don't fish live bait but I will try to slow it down with some soft plastics. I tend to really fish fast so that might be part of the problem. Quote
