BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted March 1, 2008 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted March 1, 2008 First fish of March came on Lake Alfred today. 2.5 lbs on the Boca grip. We caught a total of 4 about this same size. (notice the blue skies and short sleeves ) fish weight 2.5 lbs fl record 17.27 lbs 2.5 / 17.27 x 100 = 14.48 Score = 14.48 I know this is a small fish but I have posted it for an example. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 7lbs 5ozs. California. Swimbait. Alright the state record is 21lbs 12ozs (21.75) ( Georgia and NorCal got screwed on this one, lol) To turn ounces into decimal points 100/16*5=31.25 so 7.3125/21.75=33.620689% 33.62% Quote
Popeye Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 OK, I hope I got this all figured out correctly. I just checked the CA.Gov site and it states that the CA state record for LMB is 21.12. Yesterday I caught one LMB that weighed 1.3 pounds (small, I know, but hey, it was the only one I got all day) I do have a picture of me and the fish but I don't know how to post it on the thread (any help will be appreciated - I can email the pic to someone if he/she can then post it for me). Anyway: 1.3/21.12 = .06155 x 100 = 6.155 Hopefully I'll better that next time out!! NOTE after UrbanRedneck's post: DANG, the rest of the CA guys are gonna be TOUGH!!! Quote
UrbanRedneck Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 What the heck, nothing special but its a start. CA State Record is 21.75 (Jay, Crupis 22.01 was never recognized as the state record because DFG was not present to verify it was a largemouth. I guess they thought it could have been a spotted bass :-/) This fish went 6.25 from NorCal and fell to a swimbait.\ (6.25/21.75)*100 = 28.74 points sidenote: mine is a northern and Jays is a Florida. Do I get more points? :-? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 guys, this thread is STRICTLY for posting results, no comments please. Quote

IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 As some may know, I caught my PB yesterday on a Kansas watershed. The lake is 80 acres and there are 3 different landowners that have access to it. The way it's set up is anyone can fish the entire lake provided they have permission from one of the landowners. NOTE: the rules state: All fish must be caught in PUBLIC fishing areas. No private stocked ponds. While personally I don't believe this would be considered a stocked pond, while it was stocked some time ago in order to put fish in it. It is not a little pond that people drag big fish to and then grow them bigger. It's up to you all. Kansas record: 11.12 My Bass: 9.6 9.6/11.12 X 100 = 86.33 picture: weight: I'm good with whatever. Happy Releasing, H.G. Quote
paul. Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 here's a nice one i caught today. weighed 7-7. caught on a 5' deep grass flat w/ an xcalibur xr50 gold/black rattle bait. sorry, but no one was with me to take pix of me holding her. did the best i could for a pic. if it don't qualify, i understand. no big deal. tn state record is 14.5 lbs. hope y'all are catchin' a few too. 7.4 / 14.5 x 100 = 51.03 points Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 caught this one today (3/16/08), about 3 feet deep in 10 foot of water on a rapala subwalk; she went 20 inches and 4.0lbs weighed on a reliable berkley 50lb digital scale: fish weight: 4.0lbs MD state record: 11.125lbs 4.0/11.125x100=35.96 Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted March 17, 2008 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted March 17, 2008 Went to Istokpoga yesterday and got skunked. After church and chores, the wife and I decided to hit lake Gibson for a few hours this afternoon. This is only my 2nd fish out of this lake. She killed a frog about sunset. 5.5 lbs on the boca grip. again, notice blue skies and 85* 5.5 / 17.27 x 100 = 31.85 Quote

osbornj2 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Normally, I would be embarrassed to place a pic of this fish on this site, what with FourBizz and Hawg Caller lurking around and all...but, I figured...what the heck! Somebody's got to represent the Commonwealth I'm glad that we will be able to "upgrade" as the weather permits, but I did not want to score a big goose egg, so here she is: As you can clearly see, she was a whopping 1lb 14 oz. (1.875 lbs). VA record LMB is 16lbs 4 oz (16.25 lbs). Therefore, my score was: 1.875 / 16.25 = .11538 x 100 = 11.54 total points. I know that you CA guys throw swimbaits bigger than this fish, so I don't need a lot of grief, ok !!! ;D ;D Quote
Bassnajr Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 My first fish.... 1.5 lbs. ...I know, not much, but there was ice on the pond 100 yards away!!!! I grabbed it on a Strike King spinnerbait black and red with a tandem Indiana and Colorado blade, and I caught it on the trailer hook!!! RI state record is 10.6 lbs. My score...I don't know, I can't even read a ruler!!! ;D Gotta go get a bigger one!! Alan (bassnajr) Quote
Bassnajr Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Glenn... fishindaddy went to church and then did chores, and then caught that fish..much bigger than mine! Did he get unfair help from...well you know who^^^^!!! (lol) Quote
Bassnajr Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hey osborn... Don't be embarrassed!!! At least us guys from the Northeast are catching something!!! And it shows how crazy we are!!! My little bass (posted) was on a 36 degree day, off the bank, with 25mph winds and ice on the pond!!! We should have asked fishindaddy for points for that stuff!!!! Good job!!! Let's represent!!! (I am jealous about the 85 degree day fishndaddy had but.....Oh,...did I say that outloud!!!??) ;D ajr Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hey guys snagged this guy on March 14, finally go the pic off my camera with two days to spare. He fell to a Firetiger Rapala Rattle Trap over submerged spadderdock growing on the right side of the pond. Weighed in on the digi at 1lb 5oz. I know... I know... WOW! So the math: Using FourBizz's formula to turn my 5 ozs into decimals yields - 100/16*5=31.25 So... 1.3125/16.25 (Virginia State Record) = 0.0807 x 100 = 8.08 Thanks FourBizz, I failed Bussiness Calc at George Mason my Sophmore Year lol. Quote
paul. Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 caught today with a black and blue jig on a ridge about 12 ft. deep with isolated grass patches. weighed 8-6. tn record is 14-8. 8.38 / 14.40 x 100 = 57.79 Quote
clipper Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Caught March 18 at Lake Varner in Georgia, 7 lbs- 6 oz. Georgia State record is 22 lbs - 4 oz. 7.375/22.25 X 100 = 33% Someone turned my camera sideways :-[. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 One uped myself on Saturday at a new lake as well as got my pb. Not much of a difference but this fish DOES weight more. He weighed in at 3' 0 even on a Rapala Digital Scale. Caught it on a Strike King Red Eye Shad at my feet after missing him the first time (persistence), paid myself off 10 minutes later when he hit again. So 3/16.25 (Virginia State Record) x 100 = 18.461 or 18.5. Are we rounding the tenth place decimal? Anyway... fishindaddy, do you think we can get an update on like the top ten or something and up to date stats in the first post? Just seein'. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 4 lb 3 oz bass caught this previous weekend. 4.1875/10.75=.3895 x 10= 38.95 Quote
osbornj2 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Well, I never really technically entered the SMB division I don't think (unless signing up for the LMB gets you in by proxy), but I caught my new PB smallie today, so I thought that I would post it anyways !! (besides, it is far bigger than the dink LMB I entered a week ago !! ;D ) So, here goes...My biggest fish today went 19.75 inches and 3 lbs 12 oz. (i.e. 3.75 lbs). The VA record SMB is 8 lbs 1 oz. (i.e. 8.0625 lbs). Therefore, by my calculation, my score is 46.51 I am not too terribly concerned about entering it into the contest, since I didn't originally sign up for this division....I just wanted an opportunity to be able to brag about my fish a little bit !! (not that it's huge or anything...but it is MY biggest smallie !) Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Bigger fish. 3lb 8oz Largemouth caught on Lake Anna this Monday (3/31/08). Caught off a two tone green laminate senko texas rigged w/ a 1/8oz bullet sinker by the outside of a boat dock and some pilings. Also my new pb by 8ozs. So... 3.5/16.25 x 100 = 21.53 Movin' on up... just hope I can get a bigger one this month! Quote
mattm Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Somebody will have to let me know if this is wrong, but I think I have it right. 9.125/18.18= .5019x100= 50.19 Better than I thought I would do. Quote
