BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 1, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 1, 2008 I got the pleasure of interviewing one of bass fishing's newest pros, Casey Ashley at the 2008 Classic. Here is the video. Enjoy! Quote

Sorry the page you requested does not exist or has moved. ...or maybe the other files just didn't like that one and they all ganged up on it till it left. Anyways it's not here. ;D That's some classic Glenn humor right there! Quote

Willzx225 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 I just wanted to say that I got the pleasure of fishing with Casey on Thursday in the Elite Series and I wanted to say that he is a class act. He may be younger than most of the guys but he carries himself as a true professional. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 5, 2008 Super User Posted May 5, 2008 Casey sounds like a humble guy. I really enjoyed the interview. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Casey is one of my favs. Nice interview!! Ike 8-) Quote
rondef Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Good interview Glenn. I like what Casey had to say about sticking with what you know. I try to do that all the time so I can be more consistant when I fish. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 6, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 6, 2008 Can someone post the transcript for people with slow internet?!?! I haven't been able to create the transcripts yet. I need to work on the Guntersville video first, and then I'll get to the transcripts. Sorry. Quote
lknbassman Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Good interview. When he says stick with what you know, did he happen to tell you after the camera was off what his strong suits are? I recall seeing him at Smith Mtn Lake fishing a Jig in deep water which if I recall he ended up winning that event I believe. What do we know about his strong suits if anything. Thanks again for posting. Quote
Willzx225 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 He is known as a jig fisherman from everything I heard/ saw at the Clarks Hill event. I told one of my friends who fishes them on the Pro side that he said we would be fishing topwater and his response was to make sure I had a jig. Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I love Casey man. He's one of the pure down to earth guys in the sport (as far as I can see). I like this interview just because Glenn really let Casey do the talking and giving maximum amount of info in the time alotted. Good job Glenn. Well formulated questions too. I like how Ashley put our heads in on focusing on your strengths and what you know. The stuff about having the back up pattern put together just in case Plan A fallas apart or the fish are no longer on that pattern. I know I've watched plenty of other interviews where these elite guys stated they have lost tourneys because their patterns fell apart and they had nothing to go on. Good info there. Stellar job Glenn. Great contribution to the site as now all of us no matter the reason we are into fishing have advice from a guy who has made this into a great career and caught fish consistently. Thanks! And LKN, you're correct. He took the event at the Blue Ridge Brawl. One of my favorite tourneys last year with him, Rojas, Omori and Scroggins digging into each other. It was my first Elite Series event I ever watched and got me HOOKED! Literally. Quote
