Numpty Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Our Bass Season does not open until Late June..... Over the winter I have been assaulted by the BaitMonkey on many occasions and now have: New Citica / BPS X-Treme rod combo New Pflueger President / BPS X-Treme rod About 20 new soft baits / topwater / crank Baits a few other things....... Plus A new to me 14' Aluminum..... Trout opens here next weekend and so does Turkey Season so I can keep myself somewhat busy ....Going to BassPro tonight to now get a couple of Light setups for my wife and I, and a new Turkey Vest I still have 73 days until Bass Season Opens :-/ Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I dont know how it works in Canada but in PA where i live bass season doesnt open til june 21st or 22nd. But they allow you to fish catch and release anytime during the year, you just cant keep bass until the season starts Quote
-ebby- Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 i feel you its the same here in MN and you can't even target a specific fish while its out of season. and right now no game fish are in season :'( Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Are you serious? I didnt know they could do that? Quote
Numpty Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 No we cannot "target" out of season fish....Do not think they will believe me if I said I was fishing for perch if they found me with my Gear. Or if during Trout I am hanging out at a weed bed in the shallows with a Texas rigged Worm with a 4/0 hook. Hopefully I can get out on a nice Trout Lake a few weekends or in a creek or stream Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 16, 2008 Super User Posted April 16, 2008 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a bummer to have a season on bass!!!!! Quote
simplejoe Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 gotta love living in pa,lol ..for us there's no waiting just fishing Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 True that lol, I'm sorry guys I just don't see that as a viable solution. How could the state do that? I'd be so mad Quote
simplejoe Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Bassnbrett, we should go fishing together one day you only live a half hour from me Quote
Numpty Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 HEY STOP RUBBIN' IT IN.....LOL > JK enjoy yourselves just think of us while you are out there. I could get a ticket just wetting a line right now Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Bass season down here begins on Janurary 1st, and ends on December 31st. I couldn't imagine living somewhere that had a season for bass. I really feel for you guys. (there's lots of land for sale down here in texas ) Quote
Big-O Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'd move South. Couldn't take the pressure. www.ragetail.com Quote
Popeye Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Maybe Kalifornia isn't so bad after all. 365 days a year fishing:o) Quote
IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 If we had that law here I would think there would be trucks and bass boats clogging the capitol in Topeka! That is a serious issue! I am sorry to hear that. Hope time flies by! Quote

I don't even want to think about what the Bait Monkey has put me up to this off-season. > I actually just went and got my Turkey license last weekend, so that should help kill time a bit. Quote
PWE Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 hmm a season - lol - thats some messed up stuff. Gives me an idea though - since I'm not catching any fish anyways maybe I should check out the guns section and see what I can shoot here Quote
bassmedic46 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 That does stink having a season for Bass. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Such a short season,...no wonder those little blue pills are $.50 a piece up there, otherwise the homicide/suicide rate would be through the roof, lol Seriously though, being from an area that locks fisherman out for 4 months a yr (Ice), I can feel your pain. Remember though, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Cabin fever sucks, but without it, we wouldn't know the excitement that spring brings Quote

Ky_Lake_Dude Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I dont understand why states and in your case country implement fishing seasons :-/ Quote
Numpty Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 It is actually quite logical, Here LM Spawn up until as late as July, (I do not know about other places) They protect their eggs as opposed to Trout that do not. That is the reasoning I have been given anyways Quote
ba7ss3in Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I couldn't imagine not being able to fish year round. One of the lakes I fish want allow you to keep bass from Dec 31 to April 1st but you can C & R for them. This is for the spawn but that's fine by me because I don't eat bass. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted April 17, 2008 Super User Posted April 17, 2008 April 26th here...I'm ready!Spooling all my Reels this weekend. Quote
