Super User Catt Posted April 12, 2008 Super User Posted April 12, 2008 Not sure where the Mods want this one; it's for your PC not your boat the New HotMaps Explorer CE: 10,000+ lakes on one CD - can transfer way-points/routes to select fish finders, has 2D & 3D views - and you can print out your own maps - Only $20.00 (but the Fed-Ex shipping is a little high at $29.00) for a total of $48.99. Still a good buy for the serious angler of folks that spend some time on the water. http://www.fugawi.com/web/products/navionics_hotmaps_explorer.htm Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 12, 2008 Super User Posted April 12, 2008 I have that software. HD versions of some lakes are available for an additional cost. One HD map of your choice is free. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted April 12, 2008 Super User Posted April 12, 2008 I would love to order the software, but I think I'll wait until the HotMaps people regain their sanity regarding the shipping charges. Since the air mail charges are $11.00 less than the FedEx charges, I can only surmise that the product is being shipped from Japan. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 12, 2008 Super User Posted April 12, 2008 I got mine from this supplier: http://www.threeriversmarine.net/catalog/item/2521337/5648759.htm Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 13, 2008 Super User Posted April 13, 2008 To transfer Navionics maps from GPS to PC and vice versa I use "NavPlanner" software and a card reader. I also use Garmin cartography and for uploading & downloading (waypoints & routes) I use MapSource software. Although the accuracy of both chart-makers is similar, I was very surprised to learn that Garmin maps are FAR more comprehensive and user-friendly than Navionics :-/ Roger Quote
