Super User WRB Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 Butch is a CA trophy bass fisherman and has been vedio taping his trips for sometime in the event he catches a world record bass. Keep in mind when you view this tape that Butch's goal is to catch the bass and put it the boat as quickly as possible to prevent loosing the fish. http://www.huddlestondeluxe.com/generic75.html You may never see another bass this big on video agian, unless Butch catches a 20+ giant bass. It's very rare for a trophy fisherman to tape what they do. Thank you Butch for sharing this vedio tape for everyone to enjoy the experience. WRB Quote

Joel W Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I watched his short video a few times, and I have to admit that some of the LM I've caught isn't any bigger then his Trout Swimbait. ;D ;D Quote
Super User senile1 Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 Nice fish! He was just a bit excited wasn't he. ;D Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 That thing's a monster. Did you see the way he threw the swimbait as he was netted. Quote
Captain Cali Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Butch is the man! I've had the privilege of speaking with him a couple times at the lake. Great guy. He doesn't hesitate to share his wealth of knowledge. Did anyone notice that this was not a bed fish? Quote

Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 ok i somehow got windows media player to play the video and OMG that is one enormous bass!!!!!!!! i think i would crap myself if i caught one like that, especially considering not even a second after it was in the net the swimbait went flying out of its mouth!!! Sinjin Kim Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 No matter how many times I look at the footage, it is time and time again simply amazing to see a fish that size caught on camera. Congrats Butch! Quote
Fish Chris Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 First off, Butch Brown is the man ! Definately one of my big bass idols. Very huge, very cool fish, caught on tape..... But they cut it off too soon. I'd like to see more angles and closeups of the fish after he caught it. I'd have probably lost this one, as I can't believe how soon he was reaching for the net. Maybe when it first surfaced, he noticed how it was barely hooked.... Either way, he says > "Did you see what just happened" ? ......and I was expecting him to say, "It came unbuttoned at the same instant it was going in the net" {which is, in fact, what happened} but instead, he told me something I already knew.... That he caught it on a Hud.... Uhhh... well yes. What else would he be throwing ? But I have to give him some slack on this, I know from personal / recent experience, that it's really hard to think straight, when your adrenalin level is through the roof :-) This is Butch's biggest bass on video.... but not his best video of a big bass catch. I think some of those "little ol' 15 and 16 lb'ers he has taped are a bit better. Oh well, the photos of my 18.4 lb PB are not my best photos of a big bass, either. BTW, what's up with the blotchy, pixelated video quality ? Is it something to do with the way it's posted online ? I have a short video of the release of my recent big one, which is much better quality..... but maybe by the time it was posted, and viewed on the internet, it wouldn't be any better. I don't know much about internet video. Anyway, what a fish. I will get one in Nor Cal someday, that is that big. Big congrats to Butch Brown, Fish Quote
