Just in case you didn't know. The host is a respected member of this forum. He has helped us out in the past and he is about to do it again. His show isn't supposed to be about a pro angler going fishing. Is supposed to be about a regular guy who likes to fish who goes fishing in very interesting places with regular people. If you want to see a pro fish and push all his sponsors junk then watch something else.

I gotta soften this up because I can see on your profile you are only 16, I have been fishing longer than you have been breathing. That fellow happens to be a very nice guy, who has also reached out to me. He dioes a grass roots show without all the bells and whistles. I would say an apology is in order here young man

I would say the fact that he has won awards given by The Sportman's Channel for being the favorite host and having the favorite show for a start. I was on the show and can tell you Mike is a great guy and not a bad fishermen either. On the show I was on Mike did a show on a day that reached over 100 degrees in the middle of summer. How many other shows are going to show real fishing that way? Mike, Shannon and the other guys at Lunkerville do a real show the way it happens not a faked show with big fish that have been saved up for a week or more in a tank to make it look like big fish are being caught on every cast.

Champ has got his opinion and that's fine. Please excuse his honesty. He is suffering from a classic case of Foot in Mouth disease.

Mikes show really doesn't need defending.  It is what it is, this young gun just didn't realize what that was.

I think he assumes all fishing shows are intended to compete with each other.  Now, If Mike came off like he thought he was Mark Zona, it would be a different story but the whole appeal to this particular show is EVERYDAY GUYS fishing together as opposed to sponsor laden infomercials.

That's we love him so much ;)

Keep up the good work Mike and BMC, watch the show for what it s, not what you think it should be.  Watch closely and you'll notice that many of the guests are also forum board members here. ;)

Lunkerville is the perfect representation of "Grass Roots" fishing, the class 80% of us fall into.

I rather like Lunkerville, and watch it whenever I see its on.  I've followed it for years and think its one of the most honest, down to earth, fishing shows out there.  In my opinion, the host really seems like a regular guy, which sure is refreshing to see in a TV fishing show these days.

I've known Mike D for years through my association with NY BASS.com that he is a partner in. Mike is a great guy, and just one of your regular, every day fisherman. Lunkerville is his creation which is all about real fishing with real people. Not about pros spending days fishing a lake, and then editing it so that it appears to be non-stop fishing.  Mike doesn't go fishing with 20 setups, it's more like just 3. And he's most comfortable fishing the Magic Senko. What Mike brings to the 'table" is a real personality, and deep caring for his friends that he features on his show.

I agree he and his show needs no defending. I appreciate seeing a show about real life fishing. I get bored watching Bill Dance (as gifted as he is) land a wall mount worthy lunker on every cast. Keep doing your thing Mike D.

and if you happen to read all this jabber.... I loved the ice fishing 1&2 episodes.... that's what fishing is all about!!!!!

I guess we all missed the obvious question

Mr.Bucketmouth: What qualifies you to make this post in the first place? What is the name of your show?

Hey Mike,

I just wanted to say your show is amazing man.  I can honestly say I've seen every episode over 5 times or more.  I particularly like the ones with Pat Xiques (one of the pro new yorkers from GYCB) and the episodes entitled "Vargo", "Wild Bill and Dr. Destructo" and "The Curse of Lunkerville" (one of your newer ones), also the Walmart BFL Special just because it puts tournament fishing in your face and gives you an idea of a pro day on the water.  For you guys looking for pro shows I suggest you at least give this one a glance.  Also keep in mind Mike Del Visco is a great pro bassfisherman who makes an appearance in almost every show.

I really enjoy what the show is about because I fish just like you, if I catch one bass an outing I'm happy, and even if I don't it sure beats being at work.  It must be awesome to do what you do as far as filming bass fishing for a living (along with your other stuff you do).  But to be able to go out and learn from these everyday guys about their home lakes and really capture the enthusiasm and see the smiles on their faces when they are hauling in fish or just talking about their favorite lures and techniques is priceless.  You can see the attitudes of these guys are so relaxed and pure and it is more so about learning, bonding, and just having a good time.

Thanks for doing this show and having it made available online.  It is one of my lunch time traditions at work to throw on my headphones, pop a soda and sit back and watch the show!  Keep up the good work and I hope to see many more seasons run in the future.  Maybe even someday get you down to Virginia for a show when I learn one of my lakes like these guys!

its better to let others believe your an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt   ;)

fitting saying I would think...

come on young man, hike up your pants and take a deep breath... while you are more than free to have an opinion I think you more or less stepped on it WITH CLEATS an owe Mike D a BIG opology.. this guy is one stand up man and I would have his back any day of the week

Between a torn meniscus operation, cancer treatments, and now a bad fractured knee that hasn't healed in over 6 months, I've unfortunately had to sit in front of the TV more than on the deck of my boat last couple of years. Between ESPN2, Versus, The Outdoor Channel and The Sportsman Channel I've seen almost every titled fishing show there is. I'd put Lunkerville is in my top 3 list. It's a show for the regular angler. No glitz, no glamour... just a good time fishing (except for that one of Mike practicing his pitching in the cold streets of NYC... that one got my head scratching ). If you haven't had a chance to see it on the boob tube, definitely check the shows out on the Lunkerville website. You will be entertained.
